I think as well as all that, because we're not eating carbs we don't get cravings for other things.

Great video Steve...thanks for sharing! I made it through Thanksgiving without a single carb. I will make it through Christmas next week without a single carb. I have been carnivore for 560 days and never get tired of eating meat, butter, bacon and eggs.

All good reasons. My theory is simple. When you are turly hungry food tastes great. I only eat when I'm truly hungry so the same food still tastes great because I'm hungry.

The Army withheld food food for 36 hours while making us exert lots of energy running and other things. MREs have variety but chicken chow mien was the worst, I hated it so much and the smell was all, I wouldn’t eat it. no one would trade. After 36 hours I got the CCM, opened it, and it smelled amazing and tasted pretty good ONLY because I was literally starving! I even ate the coffee packet powder straight I was so hungry. Hunger is a powerful force and I remember it like yesterday even though it happened 35 years ago.

Food fatigue is a thing Preppers have taken this into consideration for the past century U simply will stop eating when forced with same thing too long. These studies were made long before processed crap was a diet mainstay. It’s why cabbage soup diet didn’t work Or why fruitarians are so rare

I wonder if NOT eating anything sweet has anything to do with it? Besides the obvious it’s high fat and nutrient dense. Also anticipated dopamine may also play a roll.

I’ve been on the carnivore diet for 4 months now, and I really enjoy it. That said, I still research and watch videos from dietitians who discuss the potential harms of too much red meat, as well as those who support the carnivore lifestyle and argue against plant-based diets. It almost feels like a debate where both sides-like political arguments-make valid points, and no one can agree on who’s ‘right.’ Do you ever feel like you’re missing out on nutrients that meat alone can’t provide? Since there aren’t many long-term studies on the carnivore diet, I’m starting to question things after 4 months. I’m wondering if it might be better to rotate diets-try Keto for a while, then maybe a Mediterranean diet, and keep switching it up. What are your thoughts?

Steve here, Here’s some information you might find useful. The traditional diets and lifestyles of the Māori, Inuit, and Maasai-centered on nutrient-dense, animal-based foods-have historically supported robust health and low incidences of modern chronic diseases like cancer, heart disease, diabetes, and obesity. However, with the introduction of Westernized diets and lifestyles, these patterns have shifted significantly. Māori • Traditional Health: The pre-colonial Māori were highly active, relying on hunting, fishing, and farming. Their traditional diet, rich in protein and low in processed foods, contributed to low rates of chronic diseases like diabetes and obesity. • High physical activity combined with a whole-food diet kept metabolic diseases at bay. • Cancer and heart disease were rare, though infections and injuries were common health concerns due to their environment. • Modern Health Challenges: With the adoption of a Westernized diet high in refined carbs, sugars, and processed foods, the Māori now face significantly higher rates of: • Obesity: Nearly 50% of the Māori population is classified as obese. • Type 2 Diabetes: Prevalence is three times higher than in non-Māori populations in New Zealand. • Cardiovascular Disease: A major cause of death, exacerbated by modern diets and sedentary lifestyles. Inuit • Traditional Health: The Inuit thrived on a high-fat, high-protein diet with minimal carbohydrates. • Despite consuming large amounts of animal fat, heart disease was historically rare. • Type 2 diabetes and obesity were virtually non-existent. • Cancer rates were low, possibly due to their diet’s anti-inflammatory effects and lack of processed foods. • Modern Health Challenges: The shift to processed foods, sugary beverages, and refined carbs in recent decades has led to a rise in: • Type 2 Diabetes: Previously almost unknown, now a growing concern. • Obesity: Rates have risen due to decreased physical activity and dietary changes. • Heart Disease: Increased consumption of processed foods has introduced risk factors like high cholesterol and hypertension. Maasai • Traditional Health: The Maasai diet of meat, milk, and blood, combined with high physical activity, supported excellent cardiovascular and metabolic health. • Rates of diabetes and obesity were negligible, and cardiovascular disease was virtually unheard of. • Cancer rates were historically low, likely due to the absence of processed and sugary foods. I understand how you feel. It can be very confusing , as far as what’s best for our health. At this point I am very confident that the carnivore diet has made me healthier physically and mentally. My Autoimmune Diseases are dormant. The most important thing is I feel Great! Keep researching with a critical eye and you will eventually feel more comfortable and confident in whatever choices you make.

My theory is that it’s at least partly because you were already used to eating healthier/limiting what you ate before carnivore. It’s much harder for ppl coming to this from bad diets and some that may even have food and/or carb addictions. Those ppl are the ones that struggle without variety more so.
@grumpus_hominidae6 күн бұрын
Agreed... The solution then becomes to slowly change to carnivore, to ketovore, or just keto. Make it a process rather than jumping into the deep end. Just my two cents for what it's actually worth. Y'all take care!
