@@mrsrana7540 Hello, that's exciting news for you and your husband. There isn't a strict rule on how long you need to be in your current jobs before being able to get lending from the bank. You will, however, have to provide proof of income to satisfy their requirements. If you are self employed like myself, you'll need to supply two years of financial statements to the bank. We moved to Christchurch and struggled to buy a decent house that was not over priced. Many houses were not repaired correctly after the earthquakes and are not worth the money real estate agents are asking. If you want to buy in Christchurch due your due diligence and don't be hoodwinked by real estate agents. The bottom line is good housing in hard to fine in Christchurch.

ok. lost me when you called christchurch something odd. it is called christchurch - nothing else. it was founded by english settlers in 1850 - it was bare swamp before that. the first four ships arrived 3 months after leaving london. settling was organised by the anglican church and the province was named after the president of the canterbury association, the archbishop of canterbury. the city was named after christ church, a college of the university of oxford, uk. the avon river was named after a river in scotland.

You’re really telling me that Christchurch was a terra nullis prior to European settlement? 🤨
@superkiwistar
@superkiwistar Жыл бұрын
@@griffioencaleb correct. there were fewer than 500 maori in the whole of canterbury in 1850. some maori were in kaiapoi, some around banks peninsula. there were a handful of scottish farmers in riccarton. but, the early settlers from london aboard the first four ships settled christchurch because it was bare land inhabited by nobody. they developed the city from scratch in preparation for future settlers from the uk. the city was planned in london. later they brought over dutch to help drain the swamp. the city is called christchurch - nothing else. the maori town nearby is called kaiapoi - that is what you were thinking of. christchurch was settled by the church of england. kaiapoi was the site of a maori pa.

@crownart3668 Жыл бұрын
@@superkiwistar would you understand the reply if it was in maori?? you're treating an entire native language as if it's irrelevant bc the area its from got colonized. nobody speaks the language because nobody bothers to learn, and when they DO, they get complaints from people like you who are too stubborn to learn anything other than english. and of course people are more likely to speak mandarin than maori?? mandarin is literally the most spoken language, but you wouldn't know that because you think that anyone who isnt white as paper should go back to where they came from.
