2025 Toyota 4Runner or 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser or 2024 Lexus GX550.
@sorcererstone33032 ай бұрын
Wrong. 2024 Land Cruiser is hybrid only & takes premium fuel. Combined gas mileage is 23mpg. That is pitiful. 2024 4Runner has no hybrid, gas mileage isn't great either. The narrator of this video is too naive to say things that he said. This is most likely the last iteration of ICE engine for Explorer, so the trim levels offer will be significantly less - common practices in all manufactures. Explorefrbody frame started out as 2 rows. 3rd row is a token gesture to satisfy the market unless you modified the frame to produce a dedicated extended platform. Ti's is the last generation of Exploer ICE. It won't stay in market for long. New next generation battery production won't start until 2926 or after. This & other "new" Ford/Lincoln vehicles are just make shift. Streamlining the models helps to lower the cost. If you use mechanical AWD, no hybrid system can give relatively good mpg. Look at the 2924 Land Cruiser. To meet all the desirable features the narrator of this video, he should consider a BUS. End of the story.

None of the reasons mentioned in the video would prevent me from buying another Explorer. I was looking for reasons not to buy like reliability & quality issues. Glad I didn't hear any of those. Looks like a 2025 Explorer (number three) will be coming my way.

Kim, I just purchased my 3rd explorer. I had a 2015 & 2018 and now a 2024. The 15 & 18 were very good cars no problems. Ford did have shifting problems with the 10 speed transmission but that's been resolved. Any explorer built after January, 2024 has the problem corrected. My 24 only has about 1,700 miles on it so it's been fine and it's the most plush & comfortable of all 3. Take one for a drive and give it a good test to see for your self if you like it, don't let a salesman push you to buy be sure you want to buy one. If you never owned an SUV before be ready for it to feel a lot bigger than a sedan because it is. Good luck. Russ

We bought our 2016 explorer limited in 2017 with 4x,xxx miles. We have put another 100,000 miles on it. It has needed brakes, a couple batteries, 1 shock, 1 inner tie rod, 2 front lower control arms, water pump, intermediate steering shaft (just replaced), plus all the normal fluid changes/tune-up. It has taken us to Arizona and back twice for our two adoptions and numerous other trips out of state. In my opinion it has been super reliable….just be prepared to pay $2-3k for that water pump.

LOL, No one buying a 400HP SUV is worried about gas mileage.🙄 Also high Price tag? Find another 400HP 4WD/AWD SUV for 60K. You won't find it at Jeep that's for sure, as there you will have to pay $70 to $80K+, also their company is in crazy shambles right now so good luck when ya need any warranty service. Everyone else is mostly using 4 cylinders.

I own a 2020 Platinum and absolutely love it. I find only 2 of your reasons somewhat valid. #1. Price. #2. Off road capability. Yes, there is some truth to both of these. However, the fuel mileage is to be expected with a vehicle of this size/weight and the middle row has plenty of room unless your Hulk Hogan. I'm guessing the author has never owned one and is simply going by specs. Lastly, this latest generation of Explorer is the most attractive SUV out there with possibly the Land Rover running a close 2nd (my opinion). I have to agree mostly with the price. Outrageous but aren't they all pretty ridiculous?

All nonesense. My 2023 I4 turbocharged Explorer and our last 2013 V6 Explorer both got better gas milaege than what you claim. Our 2023 XLT with heated leather seats and 4wd came in at $43k. The Toyota Highlander could not be had for under $50k with 4wd/awd.

I drove an exporer as a hire vehicle for around 2,500 miles. Mixed driving, with some mountains and highways saw just over 28mpg. The Eco driving mode helped on the highway. The sport mode helped on the tight mountain roads. Overall it's a pleasant space to be in and out just goes to show how spolit we are with today's vehicles abilities that we can still pick fault in them.
@qwertyytrew52713 ай бұрын
The mpg isnt bad at all compared to vehicles that are similar in size, price, and capability. It is on the better end of efficency for them, which all do very similarly (honda pilot, chevy traverse, kia teluride, v6 grand cherokee) Yes a 3 row suv capable of towing around 5000lbs is going to get worse fuel economy than a civic.
@paulpellico37976 ай бұрын
excuse me...but WTH are you talking about with economy vs competition? and i am NO ford fan, especially since they went woke and sold their reliability soul to the EV madness. but please NOBODY offers a large SUV with economy unless you put a ridiculous powertrain in it or go hybrid. and the competition are horrible driving refrigerators out of control on roads or under stress of added weight. and please, don't bring up the MOST unreliable vehicles...the koreans.

Also, reason 5 is just stupid. If you’re looking for a Hybrid, you would look elsewhere since as you say Explorer does not come in hybrid. so it’s not a valid reason. Also, no one has complained about about my third row, it’s fine for occasional use.
