I just bought a 2024 Explorer ST. And every time I drive it, the smile that comes across my face is worth every penny. I think it's a great vehicle. If I was worried about gas mileage. I would have bought something else.

This is what happens when someone only reads specs… It’s the best selling suv sold in America for a reason.

None of the reasons mentioned in the video would prevent me from buying another Explorer. I was looking for reasons not to buy like reliability & quality issues. Glad I didn't hear any of those. Looks like a 2025 Explorer (number three) will be coming my way.

I don't agree with any of your 6 reasons not to buy the Explorer. I do have my own reasons and that is, it does not come in a two row ST trim.

I own a 2020 Platinum and absolutely love it. I find only 2 of your reasons somewhat valid. #1. Price. #2. Off road capability. Yes, there is some truth to both of these. However, the fuel mileage is to be expected with a vehicle of this size/weight and the middle row has plenty of room unless your Hulk Hogan. I'm guessing the author has never owned one and is simply going by specs. Lastly, this latest generation of Explorer is the most attractive SUV out there with possibly the Land Rover running a close 2nd (my opinion). I have to agree mostly with the price. Outrageous but aren't they all pretty ridiculous?

I mean the other option is a highly stressed 4 banger. The 6 is really the only logical option.

We bought our 2016 explorer limited in 2017 with 4x,xxx miles. We have put another 100,000 miles on it. It has needed brakes, a couple batteries, 1 shock, 1 inner tie rod, 2 front lower control arms, water pump, intermediate steering shaft (just replaced), plus all the normal fluid changes/tune-up. It has taken us to Arizona and back twice for our two adoptions and numerous other trips out of state. In my opinion it has been super reliable….just be prepared to pay $2-3k for that water pump.

I would have said "ok, I'll avoid this car" if he would have said "bad transmission" or "engine problems" or something expensive that needs to be replaced... but all these reasons were weak. For a minute, I thought this was an old man complaining about ticky-tac issues that are minimal. This car is great to have for long trips.

I have the Explorer sport, and I get on average 28 mpg, which is considered good for an SUV this size and this much power. Where did you source your info, from Toyota?

I drove an exporer as a hire vehicle for around 2,500 miles. Mixed driving, with some mountains and highways saw just over 28mpg. The Eco driving mode helped on the highway. The sport mode helped on the tight mountain roads. Overall it's a pleasant space to be in and out just goes to show how spolit we are with today's vehicles abilities that we can still pick fault in them.

excuse me...but WTH are you talking about with economy vs competition? and i am NO ford fan, especially since they went woke and sold their reliability soul to the EV madness. but please NOBODY offers a large SUV with economy unless you put a ridiculous powertrain in it or go hybrid. and the competition are horrible driving refrigerators out of control on roads or under stress of added weight. and please, don't bring up the MOST unreliable vehicles...the koreans.

The creator of this video hasn't own one. This explorer generation is the best one built and one of the best in it's class. I have own the previous generation and I see why it's designed the way it is. No.1 best crash test rating No.2 performance No.3 one of the best looking SUV in it's class.

The mpg isnt bad at all compared to vehicles that are similar in size, price, and capability. It is on the better end of efficency for them, which all do very similarly (honda pilot, chevy traverse, kia teluride, v6 grand cherokee) Yes a 3 row suv capable of towing around 5000lbs is going to get worse fuel economy than a civic.

In realty a nearly pure commercial for the nice SUV !
@pumpkineater_6955713 күн бұрын
Also, reason 5 is just stupid. If you’re looking for a Hybrid, you would look elsewhere since as you say Explorer does not come in hybrid. so it’s not a valid reason. Also, no one has complained about about my third row, it’s fine for occasional use.
@billbenedict46642 ай бұрын
*ponies (only one 'n') Also, reduced trim options have zero long-term impact on anything with the vehicle. It's a stretch to call that a reason not to buy one.

just spent 10 min of my personal time... all these size models have the exact same gas mileage if your comparing the same engine sizes.. and it's the only one with that third row except for the cheaply made Telluride
@Brisco_County_JrАй бұрын
What is this guy talking about? All the mid size SUVs get around this MPG. Pilot 19/27 Durango v6 19/26 Pathfinder 20/27 Traverse 18/27. It's really not far off with loads better performance. You comparing it to a compact car?

All nonesense. My 2023 I4 turbocharged Explorer and our last 2013 V6 Explorer both got better gas milaege than what you claim. Our 2023 XLT with heated leather seats and 4wd came in at $43k. The Toyota Highlander could not be had for under $50k with 4wd/awd.
