When I was far less knowledgeable about dating, I was seeing a guy for 3 months. He then said he had met someone (not even someone "else") and we parted. He then popped back into my life without explanation, and just kept sending my funny memes. After a month I told him I didn't want to be a funny text friend because my feelings for him and desire to get to know him hadn't changed. He ghosted. That was 8 months ago. I'm glad I stood up for myself and I've learned so much since then!

I’m not impressed with foul language, even as I sometimes use it myself in private when I’m angry. I’ve been a public speaker on many occasions, including internationally, and swearing just shows you to be illiterate at best (or trying to shock others), because you haven’t got any other better vocabulary you know. It may be fashionable but it turns off WAY more people than you know and makes them think less of your message. Just because ‘everyone’ does it doesn’t make it right. Manners matter. Just saying...
@airbubble.4 жыл бұрын
@@gailfagan7579 What are you? His mother? Illiterate by definition means one is unable to read. Nothing to do with swearing. Studies actually show that people who swear have above average intelligence, an extensive vocabulary and a creative mind. They are also more open, honest and trustworthy, and have a good level of self-esteem and identity. For the record, even the Queen swears!
@anoukc69284 жыл бұрын
@@gailfagan7579 repetitive swearing can't put me off, but if it's occasional it doesn't. Also, the F word is somehow acceptable to non-English speakers (which I am).
@gailfagan75794 жыл бұрын
Air Bubble no, not his mother. Why are you so offended at my honest comment? There are much better, more respectful ways to communicate without using foul language using better, more interesting or fun words. Do you talk like that around people of faith or your grandmother, around children or your doctor? Low speech has always been considered vulgar. Mark is educated and has some pretty good thoughts and info about relationships but I’m finding the more frequent gratuitous f-bombs take away from his message. As many do, I’ve tried to ignore it but, I’m getting tired of it. Channel is sounding less like serious relationship channel and more about games for hooking up. Watching less and less.
@IoanGruffudd4 жыл бұрын
I love it when you said that just because someone is thinking about you and even taking it to the next step where they make that clear and shower you with gifts and attention, does NOT mean that they are ready or even willing to be your partner. Some men just like to be on your mind and like the attention they get from a woman who they find attractive / powerful. Sadly even if us women are aware of this we can still fall for them and then wonder what’s wrong with us if they don’t want to commit... “Give them the opportunity to step up and walk the fuck away if they do not” - best thing I’ve heard on the Internet. Thank you Mark, this video has been eye-opening.

Great advice. Echoes the book "He's Just Not That Into You". Saved my sanity. Basically explains the concept of guys being interested, but just not enough to step up & be a real b-friend. And this slight interest confuses a hell of a lot of women, unfortunately....
@kwp9270 Жыл бұрын
It's not confusing because it can only mean so many things: 1. He just wants sex. 2. He wants more than one woman. 3. You're in consideration among several women he's dealing with. 4. He's married but doesn't want you to know it.

Hi Mark, about a year ago I told you my story of the ex husband who grew up here in So Calif then just after our one year marriage desolved moved to So Australia to farm his families newly bought 200 acres in cirtus and wine grapes. He married, had 3 kids, 8 grandkids and lost his wife of 46 years to cancer in the fall of 2017. I heard from him that he was coming here to visit his siblings and me in May 2018. After 7 weeks here he invited me to Australia and I went in August for a month to meet his family and friends. He returned here in Dec 2018 for 3 months in my home but I had just put my dog down and wasn't in the best of moods to entertain him. He traveled around to see friends and family here then I was supposed to meet him back in Australia in July after his total knee operation. Somewhere in the ensuing months he met someone else, pulled away from me and finally broke it off in May 2019 just after his operation. He offered "friendship" which I tried but eventually told him it was too hard and not to call until I could heal and let him go as he has let me go. Our final conversation (didn't now it at the time) was in August last year. He was in a terrible mood, finally admitted (I had to ask) that he was interested in someone else, wouldn't talk about things that I needed clearing up so I just said "ok then, bye." I told him months earlier that if he wanted to stay in contact he would have to call me as he was the one to end things I would not be calling him. Sine then he hasn't called and neither have I. I'm still in touch with his brother's wive one city over and the last time we talked she told me that Jim had asked about me (I've not mentioned him to her at all not even that final conversation). He didn't ask how I was just if she had seen me. He told her that I had asked him not to call any more and that he was "honoring my request." That is an absolute lie. I am so angry with him for making me the bad guy here. what should I do about it? He already told her last year that we "mutually agreed to end the relationship." Also a lie. He can't seem to take responsibility for his actions. Would really appreciate your input.

My boyfriend has never sent me stupid shit 😭😂 it’s understandable,he’s busy and we already see each other almost every night at work,he’s also not a conversing type since he hasn’t dated in a few years. He tries though to have conversations with me and I appreciate it so much he’s so good to me.

Ultimately, you will heal yourself through your alignment with God, and the eternal Truth of who you are. Breathe slowly, and deeply into your belly. Rest in the awareness of your union with God, your love for God, and God's love for you. I call it 'sitting in love'. By sitting in love, you attune vibrationally to Love... and that is going to change your thinking and your experiences... Always remember, your thinking mind/brain is always going to try and convince you that your suffering is caused by things external to yourself... That will cause you to be resistant to the eternal Truth. That is why daily communion with that Love/God is essential, because that vibrational communion actually assumes/restructures your thinking mind/brain, and dissolves that resistance. You essentially will remember yourself as the Love that you have always been. You can't go wrong by aligning yourself to God/Source/Christ Mind. Much success on your journey and much love to you, blessed soul.

Just came across this video. My boyfriend and I yo-yo but never really break-up. A lot of outside sources put pressure on him (controlling jealous mother being the most impacting) to be free and independent. So he pushes me away a bit but never fully leaves. He'd do anything for me and I know he loves me, I can see and feel it in the way he looks at me and cares for me. But it feels like he's trying to "keep" me at times. He doesn't want anyone else to get a chance with me, he knows that I'm what he wants for his future, but al the other pressures have him overwhelmed that he feels he can't give me it all. All of him completely. It sucks and I'm left feeling hurt a lot. Some of that is on me and my past with my ex-husband - the super douche. I often want to give up but I just can't. I know he does sometimes too but he can't either. We love each other. So we're left with the constant up and down bullshit.

Yeah, I have a guy that does that...we were together for 4 years before it went sideway, and every year the last 3 years (that we haven't been together) - he ghosts me, doesn't talk for about 8+ months, then writes some strange text to start talking to me. His best friend told me 3 weeks ago that I was the only woman he ever wanted to marry...go figure.

How'd that work out for you?😂

Hi Mark, I'm currently online dating while in lockdown in Melbourne. This guy I'm chatting with is simply lovely. We've known each other a few months now, but are yet to meet in person. We are friends on social media and he shows interest in me, in every way. He's a rare kind of guy that seems genuinely interested in what I'm doing, how my day was and did I sleep well last night 😊. I really hope this goes somewhere, coz it feels really good right now. Our communication is awesome, without being too much. Lovely lovely man. 😊

Omg I’m on the same boat as you on this. Met him on fb and he has been super respectful ad. Txts good morning txt everyday. Only problem is..he has soo many girls on his insta and likes their pictures all the time and I’m just not sure anymore if I am even the only girl he is talking to 😭

@@lauriverz hmm... That would certainly make me think twice. The guy I'm chatting with is a loveable dork, so he's not talking with other girls and I'm not talking with other guys. So there's no second guessing, it's quite refreshing. Having said that, I'd give your guy benefit of the doubt until..... 🤷

Great advice. Kind of already knew what I should do with the in and out behavior. I’m just having a very hard time doing it. Advice? Book that would help? Know it’s a codependency type situation. I’m 62 and show know better. Haven’t dated much at all, 30 years divorced and too busy raising kids and helping with grandkids. I now want a person that’s right for me. Thanks.

So I would like some advice. I met someone, he’s great, so nice, very affectionate, I enjoy be around him, but it’s been a few months. He officially asked me to be his gf. He’s been single for a few years prior. Anyway, the relationship has been progressing, but something happened. He came over and we made dinner together and it was sweet, cute, had a few drinks. And my sister was over, she was talking about her lack of romance in her life, and I left the room to go use a rest room and he told her in private if he “saw her on a dating app, he would’ve swiped right. But don’t tell that to your sister.” My sister told me the next day and said that was a little weird and thought it’s something I should know. I thought and prayed, and thought, “he told her to keep it a secret, which he was 100% aware it was an inappropriate comment to make. And if he still proceeded to say that, to someone close to me, is that how he talks to other women?” I’m analyzing the facts, and drawing out the conclusion that he said something with the intention to be nice and sweet but he crossed a line by the way he carried himself. He’s a very affectionate person, but he’s very clever, so It’s pretty clear that he knows what is and isn’t appropriate. Anyway, we made plans a day or two later prior to knowing this information. And I just didn’t text as much but asked him if he’s still available on the weekend. Then I came over, he noticed I seemed off, he didn’t know I came to end the relationship. I was upset that it had to happen. I don’t trust him and it’s not fair to neither of us. I told him we should talk, I told him my concerns and how it was disrespectful, and he lost my trust a bit. And we talked and he apologized and took responsibility. I was really impressed how mature he was. He said he wants to be with me, and he would like another opportunity to have another conversation. And my decision from breaking up went to, I want some space because I don’t know what the solution to this. He hugged me, walked me out. And I haven’t seen him in two days. I just need a second opinion. Everything was so great up until that point. Do I wait until I hear from him. Am I obligated to reach out to him again? Or what is the correct response to this?

This situation sucks because I want to continue the relationship, he’s ambitious, driven, smart, adventurous, and we imaginative. We did not say the “love” word. We’ve only dated 3 months. And my sister was talking abt her bumble for 45 min, wondering if her profile was good enough for matches. And she recently got her heart crushed. I think breaking up was fair to the fact that it crossed a line. BUT I can’t help to think that he just misspoke and made a mistake he’s willing to fix. He said that if I let him, he would apologize to her and my family because that wasn’t his intention. How can I proceed to be in a relationship with him and still have my self respect intact and prevent something like this again?

Mark. My ex keeps coming back every few months. I’ve allowed him to sleep with me only to be ignored the day after, which is deeply hurtful, considering the time’s we shared together and how much I invested. The last time I made it clear he wasn’t going to sleep with me. There was minimum investment again so I’ve let him go. He’s since made no effort to come back

Gah, so frustrating! Yes, he is doing this. But the yo-yoing keeps me invested, while he is not stepping up. It’s exhausting. So I think this is when I just walk the f*** away! Thanks Mark!
