Using antidepressants for 0,5-1 year as a boost for therapy is actually highly effective. Using antidepressants and not working out the mental issues is useless. Antidepressants boost neural plasticity. I simply don't understand the unnecessary negtivity. Many of us are alive because of antidepressants.

Social media certainly doesn't help. But I'm never on it, and as an introvert, can still feel like this if I've had to talk or listen to a lot of people throughout the day. After a day with less interaction, I feel much better.

That can be a lot for one student, along with extracurriculars, homework helping family, staying healthy etc. Not only that, with too much work, students get no time to themselves to relax. @@NutpuffTheWolf I know it sounds super weird and maybe counterintuitive, but you have to surround yourself with people that are going through what you are going through, or already have at one point. There are certain mental and emotional issues that, in order for someone else to understand, the only way for them to understand is, they'd have to walk a mile in your shoes. That's just how it is. I used to laugh and make jokes at people that were bipolar and had other mental issues, until the day I got my own diagnosis. ☹️ Now I understand exactly what they were trying to tell me. Oh the irony.

I get home every day with no energy and struggle to even do my self-care and engage in activities that make me happy. Even when I make time to exercise, be productive, and all that good stuff, I come home and just hurt inside. It’s been a rough year.

When I was in high school I was sure college would be the best part of my life and here I am 3 years later completely drained, overexhausted and pretty much done with anything... I’m going through this right now 🥺 I’ve lost a lot of my closest members in my family in the past 4years it was devastating my dad my mom my step dad my grandma my uncle my nephew 22years of age overdose my 14 year old cousin was murderd im at my all time low 🥺 My life growing up is a story book and you wont believe the stuff iv bin through o man o man i should of been dead by now !!!!!!!!!!!! They are constantly at kids throats like 'REVISE or YOUR EXAMS ARE IN 70 DAYS' if only they could realise what that does to even the most academic of students. It's iratating when they see students struggling but they still put more and more pressure on them. I never understand why they do that.

I feel ya! For me, singing is my passion above all passions in life or at least it used to be. It was harder for me to NOT sing because I always felt so much joy from singing and thus did so all the time. It's so heartbreaking to me that now I have to push myself so hard just to sing along to one song let alone actually do my vocal exercises and work on songs in my repertoire and get back into lessons with my old private vocal coach. And when I am able to force myself to sing (if you can even call what I do that) my voice is a fucking shadow of it's former self and just doing this feels and sounds so strained and uncomfortable which makes it even more difficult to get myself to do despite knowing damn well the more I work at it the better and easier it will get (obviously). Anyway, sorry for babbling on and I'm sorry for whatever you're going through. I wish you copious amounts of good ju-ju and I hope you're able to really get back into your guitar playing as well as any other of your crafts and fun hobbies!! Cheers!

@@minxstole93 I feel sorry for you, I mean, it's not really good to force yourself to do something that you don't want to do. I've literally had like a month break, where I would just pick up my guitar, jam for a few minutes, and put it back down with this "empty feeling," like I got literally nothing from it. I'm slowly going back on track though, hopefully you'll find yourself going back on track as well. You need to give it time and space.

i just dont even know anymore, I had a bunch of cool ideas for stuff i wanted to start, mostly for my future and career, but school and expectations from ppl around me wear me down and at this point i dont even know anymore. Im in junior year of highschool and i still have no fucking clue about what im going to do after high school, everything that i liked doing is just tiring and boring now, the only thing i do is listen to music, or watch KZbin and do nothing just waiting for time to carry me to my death, alone in a world of 7 billion ppl. I like stories i know that, I love making them, at least when I imagine it, but actually getting up and writing, drawing characters and such is so difficult i cant rly explain it. Ive done it before, I made a short story and I loved doing it throughout the whole process, but that was in the summer, now that school is up i have to worry about so much other things and i just cant anymore, and because of all that i barely do any of the school work and it piles up and makes it worse, i just want a break like at least a few weeks so i can catch up and collect myself but that aint fucking happening :)

i wish i could do that too but everyone seems to hate me, the looks i get from ppl, the reactions from them, all just seem like they took a mold and keep creating the same "comforting" words or "nice" statements and none of it seems genuine and its like everyone just doesnt want to deal with my prescense and i just dont know what they think, it would at least be less anxiety inducing if they just told the truth about what they think about me but if i ask they just avoid my question or spit out an easy answer like "of course not" yeah of course not, literally anybody could say that I just cant believe what anyone says

This is no joke. It took my love of life and living away from me. I’ve detached from the ones I truly care about. I get exhausting just thinking about making plans and when I do go out I can’t wait to get back home. I used to love drawing and art and reading but I have zero motivation for them now. @@gerrymunoz1564 no SCHOOL has too high expectations and they put so much pressure on everyone, teachers and students alike to get the best grades, maybe if they let students concentrate on their own areas to improve and not force them to do constant revision on the side of learning new things, then maybe students may find it easier to concentrate and do what they need to learn themselves and not be drained

I definitely feel mentally and emotionally exhausted and it’s amplified when you’re lonely or surrounded by people that don’t show much care for you. Surround yourself with people that truly look out for you and care about you! It’s always good to talk things out, try to see a therapist if it’s possible. And always remember that you will get through it!!

@@reesedaniel5835 wow this was written so long ago. But I completely get where you're coming from, it is easier said than done as it can be challenging to form quality relationships. Ultimately what you can do, is work on your relationship with yourself until your tribe finds you. That way you know these connections are authentic because you know more about yourself and love yourself. This also takes time and is an ongoing process. I hope this helps!

I have been where you are. My big plan ten years ago after school was to off myself because I didn't know what else my life could come to, I felt useless. Well, let me tell you something I am still finding out to this day; it's okay if you don't have everything figured out. What matters is that you find a steady source of income, something stable because at the end of the day we still need money to survive, and do what makes you happy. Personally, I went to school to be qualified as a professional in my career. But that's not for everyone, not even close lol so find what best suits you. All the best, I'm proud of you for reaching this far. Keep it up. :)

Is there a general solution of how to solve this? Since the person who undergone this exhaustion might be unable to find solution on it's own. I think most people aware of their mental state but unable to find the right solution and end up hurting themself more instead of healing. Speak up about their problem to someone else might be the hardest choice for them.

The best way is what i call a willpower reset day. mine is every sunday. on Sunday i eat what i want, no training in gym, watch a good movie, only work if i want to work, etc. by doing this it gives us some well deserved satisfaction for grinding it out all wk which makes it easier to grind the wk ahead of us. this one day a wk of letting go worked wonders for me - try it out it may help:)

Well, I am in the state where I didnt know when to take a break so I burned myself out. Best thing to do is to try to see the signs in beforehand, theyre hard to spot but its golden if you do ( pretty much what we saw in the video ). Now I am on a sickleave to let my brain rest, so im not allowed to push myself. things like hanging out with to many people at once can be very energy draining.

This came up perfectly at the time. I've been struggling with too much stress for those past 3 months. And whole November was a huge challenge to survive. I had to give up on my part time job cause I was way too overwhelmed that I couldn't study at all and my grades became so bad. So my guessing and counselors thoughts were right. Gladly I'm getting so much better now, but I'm still recovering. Trying not to overwork myself and live calmly like I should according to my personality and just the way I live and work productively. Thank you Psych2Go that really really helped :)
