I was a former owner operator, got your course and am BLOWN AWAY. Extremely detailed... love the recorded calls with shippers too. Just started the process to get "longer term" contracts and I'm taken back at how niche that process is, it makes so much sense... bro, you're changing the game out here. Appreciate you

do I need a usdot number? or just the MC number. Also could I get those before I get my surety bond. Is there a particular order I have to get everything in for my authority.
@FreightBroker
@FreightBroker 3 күн бұрын
Hey Richard, you’ll need both the USDOT and MC numbers, but they come together when you apply for your authority. You’ll need to get your surety bond first since it’s required for the authority application.

Ok i broker antique auto loads . I buy antique non running vehicles . I either haul them myself or i broker them out. I take a percentage and im also the shipper. How can i expand to other flat bed freight or auto freight. Im a registered canadian trucking company of 38 years. Ive been brokering my own loads and some small clients for 10 years. I make about $20,000 a year doing this. How do i expand ?
@FreightBroker
@FreightBroker 11 күн бұрын
Sounds like you’ve got a solid setup with antique auto loads. Great niche you have there for sure. If you want to expand, you’ve got to start calling shippers (ideally in your area) and ask if they need some help with their transportation, like manufacturers, suppliers or distributors. Have you tried picking up the phone and seeing if they need help moving freight? Best way to grow!

I love your video. If I become a Freight Broker you think I can work only nights or how many Drivers you do at day?
@FreightBroker
@FreightBroker 12 күн бұрын
Hey Eduardo, thanks brother. If you decide to go this route, I’d suggest making yourself available during the day so you can reach out to shippers when they’re open. Freight brokers thankfully don’t need to hire their own drivers. We win freight to move by shippers, then use tools online to find drivers that are open to hauling it. Hope that makes sense!

@FreightBroker

Hey brother, thanks for your time on the road. I wouldn’t consider building out the business too difficult, but staying consistent with the daily ground work and being open to trying different outreach strategies is what people struggle with the most. Would be pumped to help you out if you decide to go this direction.

In December I will have 60,000$ saved up (I’m an owner operator) Do you think that’s enough to start?? I’m spending money on books, courses Etc.. I live over the road and don’t even know which state is best. I don’t know if I’m good with sales I use to be an introvert BAADDD haha but now I am not so much. Anyway I can bug you with questions? Haha
@FreightBroker
@FreightBroker 14 күн бұрын
Hey, thanks for sharing your plans, sounds like you're setting yourself up well. $60K is definitely a solid cushion to get started, especially since you’re already investing in books and courses. Starting a brokerage doesn’t require a huge upfront investment, so that savings gives you room to focus on learning and building. As for the best state, it doesn’t matter too much where you live since freight brokering is remote, but choosing a city with a lot of manufacturers and suppliers can help if you decide to see any clients in person. Sales-wise, being an owner-operator means you already have a leg up since you understand the industry and what truckers need. A few of our members were drivers that went to the broker side and are doing great. And if you’ve grown out of being an introvert, that’s great man. I'm still an introvert in many ways haha. Sales is more about building relationships than hard selling. As long as you can push through the daily grind when you first start to build your book of business, you'll be in a good place. Feel free to reach out if you’ve got questions or need guidance. My email is freightbrokerframeworks@gmail.com. Happy to help!
