Wish I had a coach that cared enough when I was pitching to show me some of these things. I was throwing 85 at 15 years old and if I had even known how to throw a proper 4 seam fastball with the curve I taught myself I may have had a career doing the only sport I truly loved. Thank you guys for stepping up and helping those who dont have anyone to care enough to show these things! Plus I was pitching pre internet so I never had this wealth of information. Man, if I had this coaching 25 years ago, I would have found my zone. I pitched really well 12-15 then started loosing accuracy and lost my rhythm. I could throw 80’s but once you start walking guys, coach puts you on the bench. I hope the young kids really take this advice, it’s excellent that he breaks it down into sections. This is gold kids, make this your go to video if you’re struggling to get your rhythm back. Fundamental lesson 👍

Love this sport. I always preferred 1st base even though I was always pushed toward the mound because of my size (I'm 6'9 at 17 years old), but I never committed to pitching cause I didn't want to. I fell out of baseball when I was 15 cause I just never got a hold of hitting. Now I'm trying to put in work to develop my pitching skills so I can play baseball in community college next season after I graduate HS. Then hopefully I get to transfer and play at a bigger school and start getting scouted. Any way I can get back into the game I love, really.

Question for you all @Ultimate Baseball Training I have a guy that I work with... He definitely when landing appears to be open with the front foot when I break it down frame by frame, which in turn the causes his front knee not to lock out and get that chest to be over his front knee. This causes him moment on his back leg that is following through to land in front of him, causing a slight falling forward effect.. What type of drills would you recommend to fix this issue? I wish I could send you a video of this to spit fire ideas. Thank you again. From one coach to another
@UltimateBaseballTraining5 жыл бұрын
It sounds like a weight distribution problem where he has most of his weight on his front leg when he lands than opposed to being roughly 50/50. The Rocker Drill would be a good drill to start with to fix that and also help him be able to work on a stiff front leg!

In your "hip lead" drill you show in where you lead with your front hip to hit the wall it doesn't look like you are "dropping and driving" on the back leg first before hitting your hip to the wall. Should we have our pitchers focus on dropping and driving as we teach on the mound before hitting the wall with the hip or don't worry about the dropping so much and focus on more leading with the front hip?

I have a problem with falling off the mound. How should I try fixing this? I have tried the picturing a line but my right leg swings over almost every time to the point if there was a line drive back to the mound I'd get hit on my right side of my face because im basically looking towards first. I definitely don't want that to happen so my career is not ruined. What kind of things should I try doing?
@UltimateBaseballTraining5 жыл бұрын
A drill for that would be to get on the mound and place a bucket right in front of where your follow through leg should be. Start out with minimal effort to get a feel for it and increase the effort as you progress. The goal of this drill is to eliminate falling off and it forces you to get a stiff front leg to not hit the bucket

@LakersClassof2026Basketball5 жыл бұрын
Create a mindset that you own the strike zone. That's your strike zone and no one else gets a piece of it. If you hit a batter it's his fault for stepping in the box. No apologies and no excuses. Next focus on throwing quality pitches for strikes, work on mechanics, but stress nothing and don't overuse yourself. You sound like your fairly young so let time be on your side and perfect your craft.
