I Play on 4- and 5-String Violin, and 7-String Viper. Viper have all Times a very good Position on Body, that is was i need! 7-String have small angle steps between Strings as a Violine. I Think for a typical Player is 5 or 6 String Viper the best Choice. I have learn to hit exactly Angle positions of the 7 Strings, not easy to learn. Very good to play now. I play mostly on electric Instruments, all of them have good and bad things. I need them all. Have fun with your Music! Much Thanks from Germany!

Electric Violin Shop There's just not a string thin enough at the moment to tune up to High B on a Violin at the moment maybe one day there will be, cause you could go well above the range of a Violin into the range of a Treble Violin.

Why not a Low Ab on the 9 String Violin? You could go well below the range of a Double Bass into the range of an Octo Bass.

I have found my biases. I still want a fretless trad violin body shape, but locking tuners and the shoulder rest is doing double time of transmitting the sound from a bridge pick up clip to a wireless amplifier.

Electric Violin Shop The Viper does use Guitar strap so every Violinist & Violist (Cellist on Cobra Cello, they're working on a Wood Model Upright Bass tuned in Fifths) can play & sing away just like Guitarists & Keyboardists on keytar. A 7 String Viper 6 String Cobra with frets might be beginner friendly due to playability but that can wait.

Sure. You're just not going to really shake any walls with it. An acoustic violin body just can't reproduce those super low frequencies with any power. There are some acoustic 6 and 7 string violins that sound really nice - they just don't project as much bottom end as an amplified instrument can.

@UC6W4QkBDKjzTrCNG3pJYIKw Hello Mr Mark Wood, the 7 String Viper grabs my attention cause it has Geared Tuning Machines which makes it easier to tune, Metal frets to find the notes by feel (really helpful for blind people that wanna learn the Violin) & the Flying V shape which adds a bit of Rock n Roll to the mix. The 3 extra strings (C, F, & Bb) makes it way easier to transpose on the fly to fit the ranges of other instruments, vocalists, or even both especially on a Church gig.

With a 9 String Violin you go another 5th lower to Low Eb, & finally on top up a Fourth to High A (eventually it'll be up a Fifth to High B when technology gets updated). Why not Octave strings on a 9 String Violin (Eb to B)? You can go well below the range of a Double Bass into the range of an Octo Bass. But with Octave Higher Strings you can go well above the range of a Violin into the range of a Treble Violin, & they're not available yet but they will be someday.

@@ElectricViolinShop The King Cobra 6 String Fretted Cello (complete with Harness suppourt, & case) could be my first Cello. I find it easier to play than a Standard Cello because 1) the additional strings make transposing alot easier, 2) the frets make it easier to find the notes, & 3) the geared tuning machines make tuning it alot easier. The addition of a strap allows the instrument to float with ya just like a Guitar, Bass, or even a Keytar.

A violin is a bowed stringed instrument that *includes* the range from G3 and up--range may extend lower with addition of more strings--and has a string scale length of approximately 12.8 inches. You will enjoy music more by opening your mind to a wider world of possibilities. Many highly trained violinists who learned classical music on 4-string violins now play 5, 6 or 7-string violins. Look for videos of Tracy Silverman, David Wallace and Rudolf Haken. These men are all professors of violin at the college level and each plays an extended range electric instrument.
