After covid I got really bad hairloss and my thin hair got even thinner. Then I researched for several remedies which could help. I am also a nurse as well. I work 12hr shifts overnight 4 nights each week, with about 15hrs in travel time. Due to my fibromyalgia, I generally sleep most of the hours I don't have to work because of the exhaustion. So Intermittent Fasting is really a normal eating pattern for me. Sometimes I sleep for 20-25hrs solid on my days off! I recently went low-carb and then full keto diet. I have lost 36lbs in about 3mths, which is helping tremendously with my joint pain. I also have Hashimoto's Hypothyroidism, and have suffered hair thinning over the past 6yrs. Balancing nutrients and supplements is always challenging!! I wonder if part of your problem is staying on keto for over 6 mths. Keto isn't necessarily the best diet for long-term, as it is very restrictive. Perhaps you should cycle from keto to low-carb for a month or so?? While this might move you out of ketosis, you still should maintain slow weight loss if you are paying attention to calories. This might help reset your body and help with proper sleep, which is incredibly important!! I would suspect that your cortisol levels could be elevated due to the amount of stress your body is under. Nursing is incredibly stressful, and IF keto the same... It just might be too much for extended period of time. You could also try adding a melatonin supplement before bed. I have one 10mg gummy, and I find that I have way more restful sleep. Congrats on your weight loss, but don't push your body too hard with super restrictive dieting!! Too much cortisol can really slow down your progress...

If that happened after only 6 months with keto and IF, then it probably isn't good for your unique system. I'm pretty dubious of KETO and all of the macronutrient deprivation diets in general, much like veganism you can always find people that really thrive on it and push it like it's the way for all, but it certainly doesn't sit well with everyone. I did a low carb (under 30 grams daily) high fat high protein clean diet, basically carnivore but with some greens for 4 years and it broke my body down.

The FDA put out a safety alert in Nov. 2017 cautioning physicians and their patients to stop taking Biotin 24-48 hours prior to doing lab blood testing as the Biotin would give false readings particularly in reference to thyroid testing. I’ve read that as little as 100 mcg could effect lab results but definitely the 5 and 10 mg supplements that many people are taking for hair loss will skew the numbers. I recently experienced this myself as I started 10 mg of Biotin one week prior to lab testing. My physician was so alarmed at the results that she immediately took me off my thyroid medication as it could be life threatening. Of course the lab results were false but it was a rabbit trail we should not have had to go down. You can take Biotin but just clear your system first prior to labs.

Did you started to feel bad after reducing thyroid medication due to biotin alteration of lab results? Or how did you discover that?
@tegayle7961 Жыл бұрын
@@felicidadplena1111 No side effects at all. I had my routine lab tests done and my TSH was very high as well as my Vitamin D. I did not have any symptoms of heart palpitations, anxiety etc that would come along with being over medicated. So I went back in my daily journal to see what changes I may have made since my last labs were done and the only thing was the addition of the Biotin which was a large dose but typical of hair loss supplements. I started researching Biotin side effects and that’s when I came across the FDA warning among other resources. I shared it with my doctor and we decided to stop the Biotin for 4 days along with my thyroid med and then redo my labs. And as suspected, the labs came back normal for both the thyroid and Vitamin D levels so I was able to resume my thyroid med again. This was a hard lesson learned but I now avoid mega doses of Biotin and only consume the small amount in my B-Complex supplement which is 100 mcg. Hope this is helpful.

But after I take Vitamin D3 20000 IU weekly, magnesium 150mg daily, and Vitamin K2 45mcg daily for one month, I am suffering hair loss, I think my hair loss might be related to my large amount of Vitamin D3 taking. Although my hair is still thick, I am going to use small amount of Vitamin D3, such as 400 IU daily to see whether it will relieve my hair loss.

I always thought it was strange that they blame testosterone for hair loss but typically when men have the most testosterone [late teens early 20s] there is no hair loss.
@mrmadisonlv Жыл бұрын
Not regular testosterone, DHT (dihydrotestosterone). When test gets converted to DHT and you have a lot, you start losing hair.
@fatboitino2 Жыл бұрын
It's because it converts to DHT via 5 Alpha reductase- which binds to androgen receptors in the scalp. It happens over a long period of time, so, the chronic exposure to DHT is what eventually leads to baldness. By the time people notice- they usually have lost near half of their hair density. Some are less sensitive than others, and some convert to DHT at different rates. I have friends that have been bald since 18/19 years old

Bamboo silica is a great anti aging vitamin. You might enjoy his videos 💕😊He’s great with beauty advice. It’s too soon for me to tell how the Now Bamboo Silica vitamins are working yet. I read today they work well when taken at the same time of day as collagen and vitamin C. 😊

Creatine can raise DHT level significantly (doi: 10.1097/JSM.0b013e3181b8b52f.). If someone has the tendency of losing hair genetically. Consuming creatine will accelerate the process due to the increase of DHT levels. Results: After 7 days of creatine loading, or a further 14 days of creatine maintenance dose, serum T levels did not change. However, levels of DHT increased by 56% after 7 days of creatine loading and remained 40% above baseline after 14 days maintenance (P < 0.001). The ratio of DHT:T also increased by 36% after 7 days creatine supplementation and remained elevated by 22% after the maintenance dose (P < 0.01).

@LDiamondz Жыл бұрын
Hi. This is used for certain scalp conditions, and it works well for that. It comes in 2% as a prescription, and 1% over the counter. If the scalp condition is causing your hair loss, it can definitely help. It can cause hairloss, if you use it way too much. Not recommended to use it every single day. If you only wash your hair once or twice a week, it should be fine. You can use regular shampoo, in between using this, if you wash more often.

@@davidpark2509 it is true, this is scientific proven and all remedies tell this in their description, every doctor tells this. You can look it up After the anagen phase, the catagen phase occurs, also known as the transition phase. In this phase, the hair is separated from the hair root and gradually pushed towards the scalp. The catagen phase lasts about 2 weeks and affects about 1% of all hair on the head. During this phase, the supply of nutrients to the hair is gradually stopped. This is followed by the telogen phase, also known as the resting phase, when the hair is completely separated from the root and therefore from the nutrient supply. During this phase, it may take 3 to 4 months for the hair to fall out. Around 10-30% of hair is in this resting phase. After the hair falls out, the hair follicle that pushed the old hair up to the scalp begins again to produce cells for new hair growth. Hair never falls out directly or in a few weeks
