My theory on why Vitamin D works to stop hair loss is due to Calcium. Vitamin D increases the absorption of Calcium by 20x. I took 10,000 IU per day for 5 months and it did nothing. Its only when i started increasing my calcium intake that my hair stopped shedding. Calcium is imperative for healthy hair growth as : It aids hormone and enzyme secretion, including biotin enzymes and androgen hormones responsible for healthy hair growth. It also helps in absorption of iron which is strongly associated with healthy hair.

A healthy diet gives sufficient amounts of the calcium our body needs any excess will end up in places you don’t want calcium to go to like your arteries. As a fellow health KZbinr, I just wanted to commend you on this insightful video, Dr. Berg! The connection between vitamin D and autoimmune diseases, particularly in relation to hair loss, is often overlooked in discussions about hair health. It's fascinating how many people are unaware that hair follicles are living structures and that their health is influenced by various nutrients. Your emphasis on the importance of the right blood tests to identify deficiencies is crucial. Many individuals may not realize that conditions like alopecia can be linked to nutrient imbalances, and your video sheds light on this important aspect. Additionally, I appreciate your mention of magnesium's role in enzyme function related to hair health. It’s a reminder that a holistic approach to nutrition can significantly impact our overall well-being, including hair growth. For anyone watching, I encourage you to not only consider the tests mentioned but also to consult with a healthcare professional to interpret results accurately. Thank you for sharing this valuable information, and I look forward to more content that empowers viewers to take charge of their health!

There are a whole host of factors that go into every system in our bodies. Many times we are deficient in one aspect in relationship to a specific system. So in your case, iron was playing a role in your hair loss. I don't think taking vit d3 daily had anything to do with your issue. Vit D3 is vital in preventing a whole cascade of issues from alopecia to cancer to osteoporosis. But we cannot rely solely upon the reported blood levels, because it is in 2 very different systems.

ChatGPT is strongly against taking 10k units (not to mention 20k units) of vitamin D daily: While sun exposure can lead to the body producing large amounts of vitamin D, it doesn't work in the same way as taking supplements. Your body has a natural regulation mechanism that prevents it from producing excessive vitamin D from the sun. So even if you're in the sun for long periods, your body will only produce as much vitamin D as it needs, then stop. In contrast, supplements don't have this natural limit, which is why taking too much vitamin D in supplement form can lead to toxicity. Spending a lot of time outdoors isn't harmful in terms of vitamin D production, as your body self-regulates. However, you should still take precautions to avoid sunburn and overexposure to UV rays, which can increase the risk of skin cancer.

Im 45 and i just started to see a receding hairline. I think its genetics but it may have to do with nutrition and stress levels. My father went through quimio for 20+ years but never experienced hairloss. He was always working in the fields under the sunlight and eat plenty of blackbeans, and pork meat and few vegetables during his whole life, me on the other hand eat a lot of processed foods, and lots of stress living in the us. I recently started to look into home remedies about preventing hair loss and I feel very confident that I will overcome this

I've suffered from hair loss more than 8 years and I've tried almost everything like taking finastried, minoxidil, vitamin D, E, Zinc, Magnesium, biotin, cod liver oil and lastly hair transplant+ PRP. But nothing saved me from going almost bald! Now I'm taking Iron and within a month I've noticed a drastic changes, my hair falling is now almost 0. 10-15 shedding per day when combing hair. I'm heartbroken but also relieved that my hair falling is over and I should have included iron from the beginning. Now I'm hoping for hair regrowth.

Interesting video and a lot of good points are brought up. There's no doubt a vitamin D3 deficiency could be the cause of many symptoms and disorders like hair loss...among many, many other causes (like shampoo with high levels of sulfates and parabens or fluoride in the water). When recommending or starting a magnesium supplement regiment, one should check into what type of or combination of magnesium you should take. There is something like 6 or 7 different types of magnesium and it's important to know which one does what and how with some types not being recommended at all.

After Covid I got on a bad sleep schedule and would regularly go to sleep at 4am. Then I started working night shift and after a year noticed thinning in my hairline and above my side burns. Blood test showed I had a vitiman deficiency. (27) Thankfully Vitiman D is availible over the counter so I got on 5000 UI and a year later I am noticing growth of smaller white hairs. Im hopeful they will fall out and grow back stronger and darker.

@nulix82372 ай бұрын
@@divakim206 Yes apply the onion juice (white onion with brown skin) to the scalp - cleanse the skin first using apple cider vinegar (not shampoo) - I can take neat but it may need dilution. You could use a juicer or just cut an onion in half, score it with a blade, squeeze and put the onion directly to the skin until you've exhausted it. I left the juice on on for ages if I wasn't going out, but the advice I saw was wash off after 20 mins. The vits are internal The regrowth is with thin white 'question mark' type hairs which become normal later. It doesn't happen overnight, it took me about 6 months, but I was lazy and didn't apply every day, sometimes only once a week.

Majority of male pattern baldness and hair loss is genetic, no matter how much vit D or sun you get won’t fix that. Also large amounts of Vit D in pill form raise hematocrit when on TRT, requiring phlebotomies, and when to frequent lowers ferritin. So yes there are some side effects.

Lab Results: • B12: 1667 • Magnesium: 2.3 • Vitamin D: 109.0 • Ferritin: 162 My B12 has always been high, even though I’ve never taken B12 supplements. I was anemic for many years, which I believe contributed to significant hair loss. After reaching menopause, the anemia resolved, and my hair loss stopped. Based on these results, I decided to stop taking vitamin D3. However, once I stopped, the hair loss issues returned. I suspect that stopping vitamin D3 might be the cause of the hair loss returning. I thought the body would maintain adequate levels for some time after stopping, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. What do you think, based on these lab results?
