Hi Everybody! Today we're cooking up some VEGAN BURGERS! I took some inspiration from the Oklahoma Onion Burger and whipped up 6 truly great burgers for the first time! Definitely think y'all should give these a go and feel free to embelish and customize to your heart's content!

My goal at THEE BURGER DUDE is to show vegans and non-vegans alike how easy it is to make delicious and decadent vegan meals. I used to eat a lot of meat and dairy before going vegan, so this channel is aimed at people like myself before going vegan. Additionally, I totally welcome any vegans who might be missing one of their favorite fast food or comfort food meals as well, come on in! I want to show that you can still have burgers, mac n' cheese, fried chick’n and any other kind of comfort food, and that it’s possible with plant-based ingredients.

Some great ideas. I used to love going to Slater's, specially for the crazy burgers like the one we were issued gloves and had to sign a medical waiver. Never thought I could have a vegan 50-50 burger again, but now going to make it.

I've been experimenting lately with adding stuff to my veggie burgers too. Recently made a Beyond burger with mozz and basil, topped with tomato and mayo. Turned out so good!

My best friend and I used to make these kind of burgers all the time. Our favourite was chopped white onions, chopped bacon and the cheese all mixed with the meat. We could only eat one 😂 and that's it, we were done

They all look delicious! I want to try it with hot onions, cheese, and ketchup. My Aunt makes the best hot onions. You must have an aversion to ketchup. It wasn't mentioned once. What temperature was your griddle? I have the electric temperature controlled one. Thank you.

haha yeah I like ketchup if it's used in a sauce but not by itself. I just get the griddle to the point where the oil starts to smoke and then I throw the burger on it!

I’m glad you showed the brand of cheese you used. I’ve been vegan for 6 years now and I remember when Daiya used to be DISGUSTING, I literally would ask restaurants if that’s what they used bc it was so nasty. it’s actually one of the best cheddars now.

These look delicious and super simple. I'm not a huge fan of cheese but will definitely be experimenting with my tastes. Are you cooking these on a hot plate on a grill, or do you have a standalone griddle?

Those are nuts! I'd use my own mix rather than the fatty store bought ones and less cheeze. OMG. That was a fat fiesta! I like the onions and the jalapenos squashed in there and some cheeze and/or soyriso mixed in. Nice. Just advocating for some moderation.

Do you ever mix in a little vegan egg to hold the burger together? I mix alot of shit into my grounds like diced onion and it would just fall apart if i didnt do that. Might help with soyrizo burger

If you're having trouble with the patty sticking as you smash, pop the ball on to sear for a few seconds, flip and then smash. The sear should stop it sticking. It works with meat and iirc it worked when I last did a vegan burger. It's a George Motz tip so it's legit

Over here we don't really have cheeseburgers, so when I was a kid I was sure that cheeseburgers have the cheese in them, like the one you made towards the end. I was pretty surprised to learn that Americans put their cheese on top of the patty as if it was a regular sandwich

The fried cheese just turns me off personally, so I'd totally try a mix of the bacon bits in the patty, and then the sliced jalapenos and steamed cheese on top.

That inside out cheese burger would probably been pushed over the top if you drizzled some yellow mustard into the meat and cheese before forming it into the ball. Let that spicy goodness permeate the meat as it cooks.
