I've experienced all except public bath and love hotel. Maybe next time. All of these things exist in some other countries, just not as much. There are things that really can only be found in Japan. Like Miley! At least until you renew your passport. Oh, and it certainly is NOT rude to go into a restaurant to only buy a drink, especially a fast food place. It might be rude to goto a busy fancy restaurant and sit at a table for 4hrs drinking water though. Are the acrylic stands on the shelf in front of Ganko-chan the ones you were talking about for your birthday live stream?

I appreciate you both doing your best to speak English. You may think you are not good at it, but I am impressed at how much you are able to say. Keep learning, you are doing great! Also, for those traveling to Japan, Miley-chan and Aka-chan are right about bringing your own medications. Prescription drugs, obviously, but even non-prescription medications you frequently need. My wife has pretty bad allergies, so allergy medication is a common need. We didn't think to bring any because it's not a prescription drug. Only to find out that Japan doesn't sell allergy medication over the counter! At least not any that work well. (Sorry, Japan, we love you but this is true.)

In many states in the U.S. you can still get free water at a restaurant. Normally, you get it without asking, but in some drier climates you now have to request a glass of water. In a few locations, like large cities on the east or west coasts, it may be better to ask for bottled water, but there is a charge for that.

Very interesting Miley…I always assumed that “love hotels” are basically used only by people involved in the sex trade, but you make a good point in that they can be conveniently used by anyone really, and not just in connection with the oldest profession in the world😃. I just hope they have an extremely good room cleaning/disinfecting service in between clients 😭😭!

Santorini and Ios were great in the 80ies, there is even an American movie (with Daryl Hannah - Miley, look her up!) about that. Because at that time, the hype was new, and the coolest people came to visit. Crete is less crowded, because you can rent a motorbike and can find a place where not everyone would go, because it takes some time to get there, it is that big.

Lots of people I know only go into shops for a coffee or a soda in Canada. I don't think it's considered rude at all. Especially if people are together and chatting/taking a break from walking. If anything it would annoy them if people stay there for an hour or more with only a drink. I think the time spent matters more than the amount of purchases.

There used to be many more vending machines in the United States in various locations than there are today. It was mainly for soda pop (Pepsi and Coke products mostly) and snacks (chips, beef jerky, Hostess dessert products, etc.), and sometimes hot drinks (coffee, tea, hot chocolate). Nowadays, it's true you may have to go to a grocery or convenience store to grab a snack. It began to cost too much money for repairing and stocking vending machines, so the amount shrunk considerably.

local tap water 1 - the stomach of local people is used to it, special to their own town only, but in some regions they do not drink it at all. 2 - foreigners should drink tap water only in some cities where the quality is really good, like in Austria most places, especially Vienna. Elsewhere, a sip of strong alcohol might help to prevent stomach problem. This is true for Greece. Drink Ouzo and Raki!!😂

In the USA, you can find motels that charge by the hour, but most of them only have housekeeping staff in the morning. They are usually gone by 3 PM, if they want to resell the same room, the night desk clerk is tasked with cleaning the room, changing the bed, and replacing the dirty towels and other items in the bathroom. I have worked in motels and hotels here for about ten years, mostly overnight. I would only sell a room for a full stay charge. Check-in time for most motels/hotels is 3 PM and check-out time is normally by 11 AM the next day. These can usually be extended on request, but not always. In the USA, prices for rooms vary for several reasons. Obviously, the quality of the lodging is a factor, as is the design of the rooms and how many people will occupy the room. We provide small, essentially sample size, bottles of Body wash, Shampoo/Conditioner, lotion, toothpaste, and maybe a toothbrush. Normally, the front desk will have more of these on hand if a guest forgets to bring their own. The sample-size bottles are normally taken by the guests if they don't use them during their stay, for travel purposes, they fit inside a bathing kit bag very nicely. We will even have deodorant or antiperspirant available usually, if not already in the guest rooms. I could go on, but telling more would take a whole page of explanations. I love your channel, Miley Chan, you are a beautiful young lady. If I ever get back to Japan, I would be very honored to meet you, maybe for a tour somewhere. Have a blessed year, and stay healthy and safe. Domo Arrigato!

Good English level, perfect Smiley Walk coworker candidate.👍 The 24 hours combini shops are good to buy alcohol always,😁 but they sell also these very small wonder bottles with magic liquid. Two types: one against hangovers🤮 and another to make you more resistant against alcohol, to drink before partying,🥳 I don’t want to know what kind of unhealthy chemicals are inside, but they work.😁 In Europe, water is manly FREE. When you ask for free water, they give you a CAN of TAP WATER , but if you ask for a BOTTLE of water you have to pay for the bottle, it is normal, if you buy it in a shop you have to pay also for it.
