Great info! The prunes are worth a mention though, I’ve been eating them everyday after reading the studies and believe they can have a big impact on bone health (as the studies show).

Thank you for this video and for always sharing your tips! ❤ I also avoid dairy but I do drink unsweetened almond milk from the store. What are your thoughts of the calcium carbonate in the almond milk and whether it’s beneficial as I don’t take calcium carbonate in the pill form.

Good question. I see tricalcium phosphate listed as an ingredient in my unsweetened almond milk. I think it's such a trace amount that drinking a normal amount of almond milk daily shouldn't be a problem. I've known a few people who were prescribed 50,000 IU of vitamin D3 once a week, and for each person, it didn't go well. I couldn't figure out what was in the doctors' heads who prescribed this. If the patient was "so ill", then the doctor should admit the patient and administer via IV. If the patient isn't "so ill", then I believe having the patient take 5,000 IU OTC once a day (or twice a day for a while) should be a better solution. Of course, that isn't even addressing whether the patient is having problems absorbing nutrients. But most MDs don't even look at that. Think about it: if "absorption" of nutrients is the real problem, then why not address that?
