My theory is that when ash died in the first movie, the pokemon tears not only brought him back but made him eternally youthful and immortal, I mean the tears weren't just a healing power this was something that took mew and mewtwo by surprise. Also ash is a boss trainer can train a charmander into a butterfy 😅

Apparently at the beginning at the very first Anime, when Ash tried to defend Pikachu who was extremely hurt, Pikachu somehow got up and shocked all the Spearows that were coming at the both of them, and when the rain cleared up, A Pokemon that looked like Ho-Oh and it apparently was Ho-Oh, Ash had a wish in his mind that he wanted himself and Pikachu stay together forever and stay young, and that wish was granted.

You're actually counting the electric shock from Pikachu himself from the chandelier as what killed them. Pikachu for some reason used Thunderbolt.. if he knew the move in that moment I believe.. when they got hit by the chandelier. The chandelier never shocked them.
