If the Blazers had known the truth about Sam Bowie, they definitely wouldn’t have drafted him. They already knee he was injury prone but if they had known he was already injured again, they would have passed on him. That draft was still loaded though. Now you would have drafted Jordan anyway because having a great backcourt is more important than having a great center. Michael Jordan was indeed a great player but he was fortunate enough to be drafted by a great organization, with championship pedigree on every level e.g., ownership, executive/management, coaches, players. The story line and outcome would be quite different if he was drafted to a low level competence team. For example: if he were playing today and played on a team with the same level of competence as the current Charlotte Hornets, he would not win a single championship even though he would be playing at the same level of skills.
