That college not wanting to have armed guards because of an “image” problem is disgusting. Putting their image above the safety of its occupants. Horrible.
@flatratdumpster
@flatratdumpster 3 жыл бұрын
a main reason for not wanting armed security on campus is for the safety of the students and staff of color. it can be difficult to imagine an institution without "proper" security, but for those groups, it makes their experience on campus less stressful.

even if they didn’t want to give them guns why couldn’t they be armed with tazors?
@flatratdumpster
@flatratdumpster 3 жыл бұрын
@@emilyhendriks7104 its not about the type of weapons the officers are allowed to have. a taser can result in death or permanent damage just like a gun. its about the fact that officers aren't put on campuses as a preventative measure for the safety of students. they were initially put on campuses as a reaction to more POC students attending those campuses.
@wisemonkey9858
@wisemonkey9858 2 жыл бұрын
I guess they viewed it like having armed guards in an elementary or high school, sort of overboard for such a low risk institution, but I guess it’s better to be safe than sorry so it’s good to see that nearly all colleges now have armed security

The lessons that can be learned here is how important it is to have connections. Because if you don’t have any friends, you don’t know anyone, you have no connections, you are an easy target. Even if you are very well trained in martial arts.

@Caramel Cupcake I hear a lot of real crime stories where 'friends' flat out ditch their drunk buddy. She could've wandered off and her mates didn't see where she went. But just like your comment, that's all hypothetical. You just never really know the full story, so it's best to avoid knee-jerk judgement.
@WitchVine
@WitchVine 3 жыл бұрын
@Caramel Cupcake She could have gone out with a boyfriend who then argued with her and left her. She could have been abandoned by her friends. She could have been drugged by someone else at another place and attempted to escape only to find herself disoriented outside and then he caught up with her. You have no idea how she got there, but you are choosing the version that makes her look worst. I think this is a look at your life look at your choices moment. What kind of person do you want to be? Because you're not being a very good one right now. Compassion without judgment in this case costs zero dollars.

I was left stranded in Leicester city centre last year after visiting with a terrible ex. Probably the most horrible experience in my entire life. I live in the North of England so I was essentially 5 hours away from home, in the dark and with little money. Even though it wasn't a night out or anything, story 2 reminded me of that night, and boy that city has a lot of scary looking people. Stay safe everyone!

It makes me sad as well as frustrated that there are so many cold cases. So many people who've been killed and the killers have never been caught. Makes me really feel for the families and the people who've died. Like the last story. I don't get why Corrina would have killed Faith, if Faith was her best friend and trying to help her get out of a dangerous situation, hopefully she wasn't involved.

Story no. 2: I'm not crying, you're crying!!! But seriously tho, 💝😭💗😭💗😭💗😭💗😭💝 That's a great n beautiful story of what those girl's did for another girl who was a complete stranger... But also the cab driver at the end, I was really thinking in my head, that guy should not charge them, but that he actually really refused to take any money from them, but the reasoning that he gave to them and everything....we see now that faith in humanity is rare at best, but to actually experience or hear about the complete selfless gems such as this, but ESPECIALLY on a comp of these types of videos is far from what we're expecting, therefore even more special to hear these, thanks so much for including it! ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜

The main reason I can think of, for stealing a head, would be to de-flesh it, by various means, to acquire the skull within. It was very popular in Victorian times. The story about the college security guard bothers me greatly - I've worked in security for many years, and if a check call is missed, a personal check up is done within thirty minutes, maximum. If no joy from that, the mobile patrol or duty manager is called to check the silent guard immediately. A guard going silent would never, ever be just left, even for a couple of hours. I have done patrols in the countryside, which can only be done on foot, and been contacted that one of the static posts on the site hasn't checked in, and I've had to walk a mile or so off my patrol in pitch darkness to check out the problem. Usually, it's because the guard has nodded off, or, in one case, on a huge new site, gone to the toilet, and got completely lost on the way back. You always check, though ASAP. Like the writer's friend, it could be much, much worse.

I got to attend a medical lab and it's probably the coolest thing I've ever done. It was for anatomy. At first I was super nervous about it, worrying that I'd pass out or something. But after a few minutes, the anatomy nerd brain kicked in, and it was awesome. You get this image in your mind about how things look under the skin, but seeing those muscles or joints in real life really did help put things into perspective. Everything is smaller than you'd think.

You know it still bothers me how these could happen in any situation, but people won't look for it except at college after these stories. I really am not sure why someone would steal a head. I'm actually happy with the way the girl was rescued from the Volvo. The cabby was great too! My grandmother was an RN. She started in the Cardiac ward and by the time I was born and growing up, she was a pediatric RN Head Nurse. She basically was responsible for building and setting up the Pediatric Ward in the local hospital where we lived. I don't think it is easy for anyone to deal with a sick or injured child. I know it probably shouldn't be, but to me it is worse than an adult. Our Campus police were deputized by the state at my University...I can't imagine the fear from knowing it was the same job the writer did. I'm so sad that people like Helen's killer will never be found unless someone confesses. Unfortunately, there was no way at that time to have digital witnesses to help. So horrible that someone who was planning to help society and working towards that goal is able to be killed and treated in such horrible ways. My heart goes out to Faith's family and Kerena. Great Job as usual!

I remember having to do prosection/dissection in nursing school. It was optional for A & P class and it was once a week. I know, or hope, these people donated their bodies for science but it was a surreal experience, cutting into a human cadaver. They would keep the faces covered, I guess so it wouldn’t be too personal, but we always looked. The half open dead eyes are weird to look at. The formaldehyde smell was the worst part of it. That and the fact that the skin, once all blood is drained, has a yellow cast to it. Not grey or stark white like in the movies. I would think to myself, “here is just a body, but this “body” had a life, with memories and emotions, and this is what’s left of that.” Interesting experience. Oh, and pediatric unit story: I could never work peds or ED. I’ll stick with oncology.

I sincerely hope that those of you who blamed the friends will get a jail sentence and a stiff payout to the friends of Faith. Now that we know it was a complete stranger!!!!! You have ruined so many peoples life's with your baseless armchair detective accusations!!!! It happens EVERY time a murder case hits the media and it is absolutely disgusting! 🤢🤮

I have a College Horror Story. I came back to college from winter break and my roommate unknowingly had COVID. I had VERY little direct contact with him, so I likely did not contract it, but I am also being quarantined to our room until further notice.

Yes, because students feelings are more important than somebody's life. Sadly, this is the world we live in. Its incredibly stupid.

As soon as he said an entire head went missing, I immediately thought of that freak artist in one of the other stories (who wanted a human head/skull).

I head a story yesterday from lets read I believe about someone finding a preserve human head… with the mouth wide open and it was removed by an expert… I don’t recall all the details but it sure makes me wonder if it’s the same one as this story… it said in the video the cops could identify who’s it belong too because of the way it was preserved and DNA and dental records didn’t have any results… it would blow my mind if it was the same one 🤔
