When people are courting they will typically put their best foot forward so they appear to be a good person and an ideal mate. This is why it's actually best to attempt to try and wait to let feelings arise, not easy but keep focused on the regular things you have been doing. This way, when a person shows their real personality you're able to walk away (or run if necessary) without too much grief. And no matter how a person acts while in a relationship, their true colors show if you ever break up. So many people are capable of doing some truly horrible things, so please, everyone, if you need to meet an ex for any purpose, do it in public... Or have one or more friends or family members there with you.

It's why I think being friends first is best. Legitimately. Not with someone who expresses attraction to you initially and forcing them into that position. Because we show our truest face to our friends. Our friends know things about us that even our parents don't. And with friends, you don't have to try to be attractive, just interesting and with shared interests.

@@LadyAstarionAncunin OMG I absolutely agree 💯, I was friends with my wife waaaaay before we got together and it helped to solidify our bond and to know each other inside and out. Yes! This works with any gender, too. If they’re unhinged, let leaving be their idea. I’ve done this with my now ex husband. He had deep insecurity issues. Leaving him would have triggered a meltdown. So, I just slowly became annoying and boring. Eventually, he brought it up. I “begrudgingly” accepted. Worked like a charm! Happy to say I’m now happily married to the love of my life. Been together for 13 years now.

I'll never understand people who agree to meet up with someone they're breaking up with when the other person (at any point) shows that they don't want the break-up. Stop thinking X, Y, or Z person "wouldn't" X, Y, or Z. Instead, consider that they're bound to do anything. Most people don't even require knowing very much before getting into a relationship with someone. It's enough that we can never know all of a person's secrets.

He said that he likes me a lot but he can't date me because he doesn't want to date someone who is his daughter's age. When I told him my real age he couldn't contain himself. We've been together for over 5 years now. I am 43, and it's been 5 years since I don't get carded anymore. It's good to look younger, but it's not trouble-free. Just a short while ago, I had to go for a blood test. The technician looked at me with suspension. She went to the front desk to double-check and make sure I wasn't using someone else's health card.

The kiddy creepy guy story is bothersome, but after leading him on and falsely letting him know that he is in a "safe space" and "non-judgement zone"??? Guy confides and gets set on fire "Welllll, that won't happen again!". As creepy as it was I think there are better ways to handle uncomfortable details and even help lead the guy to get help rather than "burn the ships" and basically turning him loose on the world [with a(bigger?) chip on his shoulder]. You don't have to be a shrink to know what the right thing to do is...seems she played the part of the 'token' bull in a China shop by not keeping her end of the deal after coaxing him to confide in her with something very delicate and personal. It seems that her angle was entirely self serving, unfortunately, an opportunity to help someone to the light has probably instead turned someone to the dark. Makes me sick thinking this guy is floating around out there.

He’s not hurting anyone. It’s just a bizarre fetish, is all. Guys who like one, don’t like the other. He’s obviously not into illegal behavior. He just needs to be with an open minded adult.

I can relate to these crazy stalkers stories at 54 mother of 3 adults daughters with grandchildren

One strange thing about the Mark story is that he couldn't (or didn't want to) seem to have s3x with his s.o. as two adults first or at all. The cosplay comes second

What's that old saying, everybody appears to be normal until you get to know them.

Story 4, a little harsh on ol' Mark. He dated an adult, confessed this to an adult, and from the sounds of your words you're putting all the negative intent into this, he didn't do anything you're assuming he'd do.

Story 4... I have had the same problems! 😖🤢😠 I was so small I had to buy children's clothing (and underware) to fit me. Too many creepers chose to date me because I looked like a child. 🤮 Sickening when you realise. Sometimes it haunts me.

If I were a man, I wouldn't date someone who looked childlike, tbh. I'd feel too much like a creep even if I knew I wasn't.
