We have two field goldens. Maverick, he’s 9 years old and dark red. Cal is 4 months old and a medium golden red, but getting darker! You would never guess Maverick is 9, still has lots of energy. Thanks for making these videos - love them and helpful info.

I got a golden Retriever puppy when she was 10 weeks old, she's now just over 7 months old. She falls under the English cream color, she was pure white until she was 6 months old now she's got a bit of gold in her but still overall pretty light color except her ears are more of a honey gold color. She's such a sweetheart and definitely has all the energy in the world. We named her Sunny for her color and temperament when we met her she was like a ray of sunshine so happy to be with us, she was kind of getting bullied in her crate with the other pups walking over her and pushing her aside when she was trying to sleep. There was no way we were going home without her that day. I have been doing a lot of research since bringing her home and your channel has been such a big help, I know this is an older video of yours, I just hope this find you well to show my gratitude!

My daughter has an English Cream. They seem to have an issue with getting their rear ends up like into a car or truck. I’ve tried treats to coax him. Was told that’s the breed. Also was surprised to learn from insurance agent that Goldens are the second most likely to bite, first being the Pit Bull. This was after a friends Golden bit their babies lip tearing away a portion. I find it hard to believe. They seem so loving and a fun breed to have.

Great video! Our golden Mango is a year old. He is half English cream and half American show golden. His temperament is calm and friendly. Energy level Is medium compared to American goldens and is perfect in the house. I excercise him one and a half hours everyday. He is perfect with our four year old daughter! Little to no prey drive and rarely barks.

My son has a English Cream Golden Retriever, I had 2 Golden Retriever’s over the years but unfortunately I had to put both of them to sleep over the years, one was just old almost 17 years old and my 2nd Golden was 11 years old when I had to put him to sleep because of failing kidney’s. I loved the information in this video. It really assisted me in differentiating the features of the many goldens that are out there. I live in Ontario Canada. I am hoping to get one in a few years. This breed is my favorite because of its good nature, gentleness, great with kids, and intelligence. My neighbor had a golden dark/medium colored, thick soft feather coat, and loved to play and water as well as carry her toys. She was great with my son who has many disabilities. She was a strong dog. Calm but loved her walks and water. She looks like a show american one and this is what I want even the English one. I bought a dog from a famer that I thought was a Irish setter but now I'm not sure because she looks exactly like the red retriever in your video. The dog is 18 months old and has more pull thea a team of sled dogs. The dog constantly sniffs and chases every scent it finds. I'm 73 years old and this dog had dragged me down the streets and through the woods like a rag doll. I haven't been able to slow her down or change her habits. She loveable but incredibly stubborn. How can one tell the difference between the two breeds?

I had a Border Collie for 13 years, sadly passed away in February of this year. Lovely dog, he was really my buddy... At first I wanted another Border Collie, but decided to go for a Golden Retriever instead. She is a cream one, here from the Netherlands and 4 weeks old. Most of our golden retrievers are or have been a mix of UK show and field. I live in the UK. We have had several red goldens. But we always preferred the darker ones. The rest are mid golden, but we have had goldens for at least 30 years. We currently have 5 who are spoilt.

Great video. My golden is a service dog, he is 88% English Cream, 12% show golden. He is from a breeder who specializes in service dogs. This breeding is thought to produce a calm, easily trainable dog with just a bit more energy than the full English cream. He is bred for ability over looks, but he is almost white with golden highlights on his ears and tail. Love the breed, super dogs.

I have a Golden chi named Kream. His dad is an English Cream Golden, and his mom is a golden brownish color chihuahua lol. He has his moms attitude with his dads looks. He is the most hyper/energetic dog I’ve ever had!! I just wish he was a little more nice. Any suggestions? 😂😂

I have a black golden retriever, he is a Collie cross. Mum was a border collie and dad was a golden retriever. He is a fantastic mix, body and coat of the Golden and speed and intelligence of the Collie. He was poo trained in 2 days. 5 months old now and he is a beautiful animal.

The golden retrievers we had as children lived for over 15 years, I had a sweet golden pass away at only 9 last year, and the amount of breeding in the last few decades has changed their life span (I believe). I'm older, and most goldens were used for hunting or hunting-related competitions years ago, but they also proved to be awesome pets. They were very athletic and had "proven" parents. I currently have an English cream that is beautiful, shorter, and stocker but also lighter weight than my previous goldens. They are awesome dogs.

Never ever get a show line, that's where all the health problems are concentrated, and depending on what breed; even their personalities are different. Just compare a show line German shepherd to a working line, their hips are not ruined. People focus too much on what the akc will approve And forget that the most important part of the breed is that their personality/instinct has to be according to the job the dog originally had, now we have border collies that don't have their original instincts because they are breed just to comply with the standards of the akc, my advice: look for a breeder in the county of origin of the breed, and get it from a place that doesn't focus on shows, but in the working lines. We have a dark red Feild Golden Retriever. She is slim and very athletic; she always wants to work. Well breed for hunting at 9 months old she was finding pheasants on heavily hunted public land. Not a dog for a person that doesn't want to work with the dog,

During my years I have had, a red golden, an american blonde golden, and american golden golden, and an english cream golden. Other then their coat colors they have been 100% golden retriever so you shouldn't even propagate the type myth, as a mater of fact I think that breeding for these traits has introduced too many genetic defects into the breed and that is a real shame.
