Who in the world said ANYthing bad about Vera's appearance? She's beautiful, and she has a very pleasant vibe. Besides, it's sweet of her to share these videos and so much of her experience. I bet she lights-up the room around her, brighter than a light bulb - with her presence - everywhere she goes. As hard as it is, I've learned you have to dismiss certain "comments" and criticisms..... sometimes people try to prove that the world is flat so they can somehow make themselves feel better. But Vera, she's uniquely HER, and very beautifully so. She said she won't call the person out, because it's unprofessional, and without taking anything away from what Vera said, I will simply add that I think that the main reason Vera wouldn't do it is because she's classy. Vera, continue to shine wherever you go. The world needs you. :)

Cheers to Vera for being yourself and for staying classy in the face of inexcusable comments. You're an inspiration!! I'm an HSP so I absorbed it at first, but I've been doing my own inner work and have let it go with a similar "it has nothing to do with me" attitude).

Hi Vera, I have been a minimalist most of my life in a physical sense, I never bought too many things, I never liked clutter, I like everything in its place. I am not very good with taking care of my health, which I have been focusing on for the last few years now, I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer (not to worry I found it early, but it’s stage one and I will be getting surgery this coming week for a lumpectomy) I am a very positive person and the outlook is a 10%. I have seven sisters and my mom and no one has breast cancer so I was pretty confused when I asked the oncologist. How did I get this he said many people get cancer due to stress and busy lives especially here in the United States, I have been working on a better diet, but I need to work on sleep And exercise, so always room for improvement, I just want you to know that your videos are something I look forward to because it is a constant in my life. It brings me peace, and I tend to slow down when I think about your videos throughout the week. 😙 I am actually working on time management also so I don’t feel anxious all the time about the things I need to get done because when I become overwhelmed, I don’t do anything. 🙄 Slowly but surely my life is becoming less stressful and I have to say that you are one of the reasons for that so thank you for all your videos and this channel and of course also your Patreon channel!!! 🌻….have a wonderful weekend Vera! ☀️

There are those who pull others down to build themselves “up”, and there are those who have proved themselves in love/support to build up and provide uncomfortable truths when necessary. A tan? Really? You’re lovely! Trust me, I grew up in Florida and have battled skin cancer for decades….you’re fine as you are!!! Anyway, you know, sometimes it’s good to go-with-the-flow…be a tree in the forest. That’s sorta me. However, I’m a different tree and I have my own corner of the forest. The minimalist approach frees you to be yourself and not worry about other’s opinions. Final thought….embrace Wabi-Sabi! Great video! 😊

Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts, loved what you said about being a tree in the forest :) I'm so sorry to hear you've been battling skin cancer. My slow travel rule is knowing 1 thing to do and 1 place to eat each day because I do get nervous about where to eat and what is open and good for me with some health issues. But by not packing every minute of each day, I still feel like I see quite a bit and enjoy the anticipation of food, but also enough time to explore, or linger at places I like, and be in the moment and find new places to try.

Your videos, Vera, are like a warm hug--so reassuring! Also your voice and your smile make me feel more calm. I like the points you brought up. For me having moved from the capital to the countryside over 2 years ago made a huge difference in my life. Going shopping for stuff takes a lot more effort and time now, so my husband and I try to take fewer, but smarter trips to town, and, as a result, we buy less things. When I don't have something I can't just go out and get it, so I learn to either do without it or find a substitute. Also, slow living in the village gave me a lot of time to ponder about life, research and learn about things that interest me and made me reevaluate priorities in life. I do miss the city sometimes, but it happens less and less lol. Best regards from a regular viewer in Ukraine! Have a happy birthday celebration!

I really had to laugh when you described how travel used to be for you - rushing from one place to another trying to fit in as much as possible! Exactly describes me and my husband traveling. It has taken us awhile, we are much older now - as you said we listen to our bodies! Maybe we need to stop for a few minutes to sit and just enjoy the scenery. Or do we need to refill our water bottles so we can refresh our selves. Or is it just time to go to the hotel for some quiet time before figuring out plans for evening. A slower pace for sure but we take the time to laugh and are more likely to feel relaxed when we return home rather than exhausted! You are so right!

i've been following you recently and i am happy i came across your channel to watch a video. i tend to step away from these topics on youtube because they come with many sponsorships and take a lot of space in the video when the video is about a calm life. sponsorships aren't bad but the amount of weight they take up in a tender video like this topic with many layers. i can relate to what you say and i am learning about my need as i listen to you and as i understand your experiences. also the person that called you a light bulb because of your paler complexion is so rude. that's a stranger, you won't believe my grandmother didn't like my complexion and said i needed to reduce the "tan" on my face and my mother used to call me ugly for having bangs few years ago. people can be so mean. but like you said when we develop a deeper connection with our selves, we start to see from a matured place what is significant to us. slowly the narratives change.

Thank you for this wonderful video, and happy birthday!! After nearly burning out some years back, I’ve been working on slowing down and have improved, but I just noticed one area I need to work on. I listen to a lot of audiobooks and KZbin videos and I listen at 1.25 or 1.5 speed (sometimes faster) because I want to hurry it up, I just realized that is another way I can bring unnecessary stress to myself as my breath rate tries to match the speed of what I listen to. It leaves a bit of a high energy or anxious feeling.

Thank you for this video, which I as always, really enjoyed. Fitting in, seeking acceptance and praise have been the core drivers of me losing the connection to my true self, to the point where I didn't know who I was, but only who I ought to be. Over the last several years , I'm finding my way back, with getting out of my head and re-establishing the connection to my body being the main drivers. It is sooo much nicer to be me now.

Vera, hi, I am new to your channel, and I'm loving it. I appreciate that you speak slowly and clearly in your videos. Sometimes, it seems the world moves too fast for me, even the speed at which many people speak. I even slow audiobooks down to 75%. I find your voice calming, and love that we seem to be in the same "gear" in life. I wonder if a lot of HSPs have a very low "rush-tolerance." I want to embrace minimalism and a simpler life. I was a caregiver for my husband for 12 very stressful years, and now I need to find peace and calm. So glad I found your channel!♡

Hi Vera! Good to see you and visit with you as always. I share your experience of feeling left out as a child, and it’s still a trigger of mine as an adult. Thank you for your encouragement on continuing to be my authentic self. If you have any other advice on this, I would love to hear it. (I think Dutch Kapsalon is similar to American loaded nachos…but you can find loaded fries nowadays, too 😊)

My mother (dutch) always hosted her birthday and with that, had some cake or dessert. I never connected it to a cultural custom. :-) Thank you for your channel. I love hearing from you!

Hi Vera and happy birthday 🎉 I recently found you and have subscribed to your channel. I’m retired, 62 and live in California and I need to slow down. Your videos are very helpful to that goal. If you make it out to the botanical garden please share.

The last few years I have slowed down my weekends. I work all week and used to rush through the weekend to make sure I fit everything in. Now I have a better work life balance during the week which allows me to relax on a Sunday morning or afternoon and enjoy life more overall.
