Nicely done video. I prefer the "no-hardware" methods. It's a melancholy feeling to watch your horse and gear galloping away over the hills after breaking a snap hook. All my leads have a loop braided into the end.

I'm at a loss as to why you tie the leather popper at the fiador knot. We always used the popper at the end of the lead rope for tapping the horse, as needed, to provide a feel and a sound as the popper comes together.

That snap you used is highly prone to failure under any kind of pull back.
