Just before someone asks Fasting Salts: Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium. Pure, Unflavoured Electrolyte Powder with Zero Additives. Fasting Electrolyte Supplement from Nutri-Align Fasting Range. 400g. amzn.eu/d/2PxuCd2 These are the salts I use when doing extended fasting. I tend to take 3 scoops a day but electrolytes are important and if you are feeling a bit lethargic just increase them slightly, go off feel. I mix with sugar free Vimto.

Hey Mst System do you think a 197cm guy (19years old )with a bodyweight from 120kg (natural) who only trained for 1,5 year "hard"(200kg squat, 220kg deadlift) can get a 300 kg dead lift in one year? In the 1,5 years i Trained more like a bodybuilder. Thanks for the ans.

fasting is the hardest training both for the mind and body and remember that the hardest thing is to beat/fight is the mind(your mind), no physical training or pain can even compare to it

I got into it after I was adviced trying it out by my coach, as I have excess body fat. I am used to ketogenic diets, which where successfull for me when I was preparing for a challenge with some friends to ride up the Mt. Ventoux a couple of times in a day. Last week i did my first fast that was longer than IF 18-6. I was adviced strating with 24-36 hours, but after 24 hours a blood-test indicated I was already in ketosis (even though my eating habbits were a balanced diet with carbs, for couple of years already). This state made it way easier to push through. in the end, after 48hrs I came off, not because I wanted to do so, but becaus we had family dinner planned and I left some room to break the fast gently. This week I started with a 72hrs fast. Did one training during fasted state, it's bizarre, heartrate doesn't go up that fast, focus is high. And I thing I am about to avoid training too much during fasting, without the ability of refeeding afterwards. I went down 1,5kg, measured after 2 days of refeeding with proteines, fats and carbs. Waterloss is taken into account here. Total down right after fast was 5kg. Really happy with the result of 1,5kg actual fat loss after 5 days of fasting. I will continue this for about 5 more weeks. Feeling great on it.

great video. I plan on doing this after my next powerlifting meet. I have been messing with fasting a bit prior to this training cycle, but not pushing it like this. Also the fasting electrolytes are interesting. I was using electrolytes previously, but am going to compare these to what I use.

Thanks for adding in the bit about diet drinks. For my first fast (3 days), it was easy but really boring just having 100% water. For my second fast (5 days) I've been having some diet / zero sugar / 0 calorie drinks, adding in some diet root beer has made it a breeze.

Also when you extended fast you go into ketosis, you can refeed keto style if you want, it will make going into the next fast easier, however as an athlete I find it best to replenish glycogen with carbs so the next load of training is fueled well, there’s no rules though so have a play & stick to maintence or less on refeed days and you can’t go wrong 👌

I'm considering this myself, I'm an open weight athlete but I have a lot of excess BF, maybe I'll look into doing some extended fasts to bring down my BF so I can then build more muscle in a leaner way with less overall BF.

Hey Shane, just recently found your channel over your loglift tutorial (which is spot on btw and helped me a lot to get started) and your content and expertise is highly appreciated. As for extended fasting: this stuff is a real game changer for me! The most mindblowing part is, how much energy you have during the fasting periods. I can even train and I'm not dying afterwards, which I thought I would do without food🤷♂️... So thank you very much, for introducing it to me. Btw, the electrolytes are basically essential! Tried one day without (out of curiosity) and felt like sh*t😅... so they actually do make a difference for sure. The product you recommend is a little bit expensive for my taste though. Went with standard salt (not iodized / without fluoride) and supplemented potassium a little lower than the dosage in the Nutri Align Fasting Salts and everything is fine. Just for the ones who are trying to save money. Sry for the long text, but I felt the urge to show you some gratitude for your effort. Hopefully you'll get way more followers soon - you totally deserve it!

Thank you man! I agree thst those fasting salts are expensive haha you can also just buy lo salt (pure potassium) and pink salt and add them to drinks! Along with some bicarb soda makes things like sugar free vimto taste lovely

All comes down to calorie control, if you eat in a 6 hour window you will limit your calories and probably still be in a deficit but extended fasting will give you loads of other benefits ontop of the huge deficit, Viceral fat stores (the shit around your organs) goes down much faster with extended fasts, insulin resistance can be improved quickly & a whole host of other benefits, take a scroll through my KZbin for the other fasting video and it explains a lot of the other benefits there 🙌 hope helps

I actually did the restoration phase between comp preps, had 12 weeks and used it before the start of my 8 week prep and went into the next prep feeling strong and energetic as opposed to stiff and tired. Can’t recommend the app enough. What are your thoughts on carnivore? Or even the Paul saladino approach with the honey and fruit added? I’ve done it before with great results but wasn’t training for strength.

Great vid as usual 💪 have you noticed any differences in the effects of fasting between naturals and PED users? And are there any different considerations that should be taken into account between the two?
@MSTSystems2 жыл бұрын
Hey Adam, good question, as far as I’ve seen with clients there appears to be no major differences aside from enhanced tend to lose the fat faster . As a natural when you fast GH is increased massively and once you are In keto it is a very muscle sparing environment

I have a Deadlift only comp in 10 weeks, i compete at 90k and am usually around 93-96k. What's your thoughts on fasting for the next 4-5 weeks , getting below 90k, maybe 86/87 then going back to maintenance cals for the 5-6 weeks before the comp?
@MSTSystems2 жыл бұрын
I would just not eat carbs for about 5 days before the competition and you’ll drop that, then carb up post weigh in 🤙

@@MSTSystems Thanks mate, I tend to overthink things, in the past I’ve done water cuts and ended up shedding too much weight and been 3-4 k under, plus it definitely weakened me. Last one was 7.5k overnight, too much now at 54 👍🏻

As someone who is 5’ 6” and weighing 110kg if I was wanting to get down to 90kg would you recommend a process like this? I’ve started training strongman over the past couple of months but purely for fun. I’ve got a very high body fat percentage around 40% according to Digital scales (I know they’re not 100% accurate) Do you think a 48 hour fast a week would be beneficial or would I have to do more?
@MSTSystems2 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I was 109 and coming down to 90kg to. If you ate maintence or below on your non fasting days you would lose weight fast yeah, think of it as, the more you fast the quicker it comes off.

I reckon the energy on extended fasting is probably more natural than a calorie deficit, just the same as how when you eat a meal you could always eat loads more a bit later. I’d say it goes back to cavemen and how they wouldn’t eat 3 meals a day or every day. It’s really not natural for us to eat everyday 3 times a day. That’s just my take on it though.
