6 Year Old Stampede 4X4 VXL | Maintenance

The Stampede 4X4 VXL was such a great design prior to the BL-2S. A subscriber reached out to us about his Stampede 4X4, and wanted us to fully go over his RC to make sure it was in good shape. This Stampede was manufactured roughly near 2017-2018, and was kept in great shape. We serviced the front/rear differentials, shocks, and the electronics. More people need to do more maintenance videos & people will watch them especially with bashers & pretty much after every run you should go through a checklist things like wheel nuts etc. come loose all the time.

do you know if you can put a clipless body system on an old 4x4 stampede?

No they don’t make one for that body style yet, doubt they will make one.

Hi I recently purchased the green clipless body for the bl 2s body and put it on my old stampede. I had to buy the new shock towers from the bl2s. The body doesn’t drop in as nicely but if you push the body would body would flex and fit. Probably wouldn’t recommend but I was tired of losing body clips and looks ok

Hi I have the same exact truck and it refuses to wheelie. I been running a 3s with a 9 tooth. I had had the trenchers on before but I thought maybe they were too heavy so I went and bought the talons. The only metal parts I have are driveshafts. I tried tightening the slipper but maybe it is still too loose or would you recommend a center diff? Thanks Ps I also rebuilt the front and rear diffs and maybe not giving it enough throttle. Also I’m using 40 weight shock oil in the front and 50 weight in the rear

Try tightening the slipper all the way, then back off 1/2 a turn. If it’s still slipping a lot, check the pads and disc it may be glazed (shinning from friction) and will need a rebuild kit. Can’t go wrong with a center differential.
