You could replace one missile launcher with a high capacity cannon and dispersal field. Keep that trained on your target and they will never have a lock on you as long as you can connect the shots.

I wanna try this build, but I dont have access to cobra mk4. Which would be better, a viper mk4 or a cobra mk3?

I haven't really compared and tested true potential of Viper Mk IV. I usually go with Viper Mk III for the looks and speed. Usually a Flechette/Adv MIssile Build. Cobra Mk III was my Rail/PA Build which I never used

How do you stay in silent running for so long without overheating? O.o

There are few tricks to minimize rapid hear build up while in silent running. The main thing is to engineer the biggest A-Rated power plant your ship can equip with Grade 5 Low Emission, Thermal Spread as Experimental effect. This will determine your base heat at idle, and how efficient it will be to cooling when firing weapons, fuel scooping and boosting. once you engage silent running, turn FA-OFF. Do not boost. AVOID firing weapons, theres a major heat penalty for doing so. Also try not to fight near a star, planets or within atmosphere. Few things to note also is that it takes 4 seconds from engaging silent running to the actual heat vents closing. That’s when heat stars to build up.

Convection is a far superior method of cooling than emitting infrared energy only, unless is a super hot planet or something.
