This is a 60 minute class. Part of the Body Focus Series for shoulders
A class to open, strengthen and restore range of motion in the shoulders. Class includes a combination of vinyasa flow moving intentionally with your breath - opening, strengthening and lengthening the larger musculature of the shoulder girdle and also some mobility & conditioning for the shoulders targeting the smaller twitch muscles that support and stabilise your shoulder joints.
Offering a deep release and promoting functional strength to support healthy movement.
For practice, you'll need a blanket and a block

I'm of the Fused Shoulder Blades Tribe so this was really eye and shoulder opening. That whole extended-arms triangle required deep breathing! I sounded a bit like a steam train. But my upward-facing dog was SO much more open. Thank you, Fiona.

😍I think you did something similar abt 3 years ago( focus on shoulders) and I remembered sweating bullets! still glowed today but so nice to notice progress. Makes one realize that fast pace is not the only way to strengthen body as slow and concentrated is just as hectic- Good one Fiona!!! # anticipation for next one

Loved this class for all the reasons already noted PLUS the long, quiet shavasana at the end! Too many instructors shortchange this or keep talking through it.

Wonderful Susan! You’re one of the few that enjoy it. The analytics show most people roll up their mat at the end of movement. There’s a big drop off and yet…. One of the most important parts of practice. ❤️🙏

Heartfelt thanks to you - quite blistering in some moments, I have to confess, I'd love to have longer extremities in relation to my trunk, oh & I've discovered a Chaturanga With Arms Crossed yesterday, quite mean actually, not much bend here, since it's kind of a bind in HighPlank-wise, but could easily inserted here in your brilliant flow. Those classes must take incredible effort to structure, it's a functional anatomy lesson every time, up & including fibre-bundles, when you let us rotate around a 3-way-joint...Simply brilliant! Hope you & yours are well, & both doggies! ❤️🙏🏻

I know that cross arm push up :-) I saved it on my Instagram to roll in sometime :-) just got to check and see if I can do it! Haha. The guy doing the demo looked very musclely :-) and yes, it does take me a few days to research and explore how I sequence each class. Kind of you to appreciate it. Really, such a compliment 😊 Ralphie is very well. Thank you. Sadly Stella passed at the grand old age of 12 a few months ago. A long life for such a large dog. We miss her. Ralphie, on the other hand, has not skipped a beat. Less competitive for him now. 100 percent attention. I hope you’re doing great too? Surviving your summer? 🙏😊

@@TwoBirdsYoga Very sad to hear of Stella having passed away, never got to know her like I fool myself into believing I know TheSockBearer! Yeah, 5 minutes into practice means dripping that sweat already, never knew such hot days in these latitudes beyond the Alps; but my metabolism adapts to weather easily, always did, so it's not much more of a problem but students asking for early lessons' ending because of the temperatures...😁. Got this CrossedChaturanga from a teacher here, buildt similar to you, very open joints & long muscles, & she smiles during the most demanding Asanas...But it takes time to get into this pushup variation, might interrupt the flow: kzbin.info/door/cesUWMHMX8jjNQL4VaeSDw

Fiona, I just love your flows. I have been practicing with you for several years now and your classes are amazing. The perfect blend of challenge and ease with your calming and perfect instruction. There are yoga facilities in my town but have yet to find a teacher with your style. I was wondering if you offer any teacher training. If not, do you have a recommend a teacher with your same flowy vinyasa style? Thank you in advance! I am feeling the calling to teach!!
