I know right. But I find it’s a bit modified and easier to launch :-) traditionally, there is only one upper arm in contact with a leg. #toohardforme So great you’re feeling stronger

2 years later and you're still killing me. More pilates influence in that class that your recent ones. That forearm plank was tough. I am much more flexible and could get into koundiyasana without too much hassle but certainly not one armed yet. Wide legged fold I'm like a different person, my head is much closer to the floor. It's incredible to have so many amazing classes to choose from. Thank you.

"Return to SplatPose..."- by all means...*wheezing happily...Thank you so much for this lesson, fabulous!! Adressing the Ekapadakoudinasana in version 2, that without the twisted pelvis (no idea why vers.1 is called the "more comfortable/supported"..), legs as good as possible towards front & the back,hinged over the upper arms; not there yet, but I can already feel the aolution within me, crooking my legs a bit for more hold. Such a joyful riddle Yoga is, isn't it, until this moment when a cns comprehends it, I so love that! For the time being, alas, am working at this sage's Asana..! ❤️🙏🏻

Yes! Awesome Fiona, that truly was a grand finale. I loved the pace (as always), the creative flows, the rests and challenges. I always feel terrific after your sessions. I'm looking forward to returning to regular yoga after this four-part series :) I feel that yoga challenges our core very effectively as long as we do each and every pose with focused attention, intention and breath. It's good to do a little more sometimes though. I managed to do everything in this class although I only held side crow for a few seconds :) Some people feel that yoga doesn't target the core enough, I don't agree but it's probably why some prefer pilates. Personally I'm not a big fan of pilates. There's no flow that I love so much, no emphasis on mind/body/spirit and the exercises are repetitive and tedious (to my mind) plus they use those ridiculous $10K reformers when all yoga requires is your own wonderful body. Reformer pilates is good I suppose if you have injuries or limitations or can't do yoga for whatever reason. Thanks again Fiona, you're my heroine and my heroin!

Oh I’m ready to flow too! I think mixing our routines up is so helpful in training our mind/body to move in different ways. We gain better proprioception amongst other things. Yoga is useful in building muscle strength and tone but it’s limited to resisting your own bodies weight. That’s why I try and include other modalities in my own routine to increase metabolic stress and cardio. Bike/surf/pilates/weights. I don’t get very enthused for pilates, but it’s worthwhile. Having said that, yoga is a true practice for longevity and it’s benefits reach us more deeply emotionally and mentally beyond our mats. It’s definitely my favourite too. Thanks so much for following along. Xx

The pose you’re referring to is Eka Pada Koundinyasana I eka = one · pada = foot · Koundinya = a sage · asana = pose One-Footed Pose Dedicated to the Sage Koundinya I My entry into it is unconventional but easier I think. I place 1 elbow to outer knee and 1 to outer hip. Traditionally, 1 arm is not supporting the hip and you enter via side crow, then split the legs. Good,it's SideCrow then,& lots of TwistedSeats, so that I can transfer my way onto the hands subsequently, not easy for me, & this ellbow to the hip on the free side makes total sense, yes! 🙏🏻❕
