My parents sat me down every Sunday to watch 60 Minutes with them and at that young age was admittedly only passively interested in some stories, but occassionaly enthralled by others. It was a tradition throughout my upbringing and my parents always insisted that 60 Minutes was the gold standard for investigative journalism and ethics, and we all still believe that today. It ultimately had a major influence on my education and career. Thank you for standing up in the service of others.

This is nuts. Both stories are jaw dropping. As someone who went through the beginning stages of the security clearance process, I can attest that I felt like a huge responsibility was being bestowed upon me, and I didn’t even end up finishing the clearance process because I didn’t get the job. I can’t even imagine going through my career with that kind of clearance and ever selling my integrity for any kind of money. It’s unfathomable.

“I can’t believe people are so evil”. I find myself saying this more and more, isn’t it unbelievable, unfathomable, how some, how so MANY, humans can treat other human beings? Or comply or support it? I wish people who feel what you feel, and the people that don’t, could be easily identified. I don’t want to know people anymore who are ok with doing things that hurt others. The “faith in humanity” bit is overused, but it is crushing to think sometimes you hate your own kind and think the world would be better off without human beings.

A shame there still isn't a cure for Lou Gehrig's. I never met my Grandpa because of it. He died when my father was just 15. I have a few pictures of him as his ALS progressed, he lost so much muscle mass. He was a military man, a pillar of the community and after he served his last military term, he became a railroad conductor and built his own house room-by-room as he could afford it. I wish I could have known him personally. My grandma wanted to take him to places that claimed to be able to help ALS but I think he had already accepted that it just wasn't going to do any good. It saddens me to see the man in this video break down crying when he mentioned that his idea was of hope for the con artist who claimed to be able to reverse it.

For the 6 treatments he said would cure my daughter it was going to cost me roughly around $80k. Knowing I'm a single mom also taking care of my mom who also has cancer and other illnesses... He saw me as an easy target cause I was desperate to cure my child, being a single mom and doing this alone with no other adult helping me, he knew how vulnerable I was. My sister and I have the same problems in our spines, and we have tried everything but back surgery. She told me that there was a new thing going around called stem cell treatment. She said she went and got one treatment and that she had to pay up front to have it done because her insurance wouldn't pay for it. Later on I asked how it was going and she just looked at me and said " I feel like I've been ripped off" It didn't work. later in that year she had back surgery. She still has problems with her spine and I see her getting worse every time I visit her. Oh and by the way, I wished she had watched this before she gave up all of her 401K retirement plan money that she could have lived the rest of her life on. Now she is broke and she's in pain everyday, stumped over and takes baby steps. She said, it's too hard to sit too hard to walk and finds it barely hard to lay down. I pray for her and I am sad, not only for her but for me too, because I'm right behind her in my wheelchair. So if there is anyone out there that is reading this, all I ask of you is to pray for us both. And if there is someone that comes along and reads this one day, thank you and God Bless you. With love and peace from Phoenix AZ.

And yet KZbin regularly has commercials for snake oil remedies that are often an hour long. Unsolicited and alarming.

Has anyone done the follow up story on members of Congress and Senate sitting in on committees and then having first hand information on the stock market?

Undercover Patient: Am I going to get closer and closer to a point where you can say that I'm healed from this disease. Scammer: "Oh yea that's 100% possible...we've done it with cancer " yet the scammer lost his leg to cancer. He could cure everyone else but not himself. Very interesting and that should have been a red flag right there.

As for Larry Stowe, he received 72 months (6.5 years) in federal prison, and his partner Morales received 60 months (5 years). They were ordered to pay a little over $400,000 in restitution. Both the sentences and the restitution in my humble opinion are FAR too low.

To watch this shakes me on every viable meaning of life. In 1997 my my best friend and close family much loved uncle died from leukemia in 3 months from the time of diagnosis... The man never drank, drugs, or even had sex at the age of 40. Today, with study and treatment we could laugh so hard as a family, the energy would shake the universe we live in. Radiation wont cure all...
