This review of solar panels was succinct with the research proven then and there. Great video.

A guy on Facebook has pointed out that the first cluster of solar panels I have tested in the final benchmark was damaged and it is true that damaged solar panels give a lower power output proportional to their health. I've run the battery charging test again with full health solar panels and these were the results: East / West oriented panels charged a battery up to 8 minutes 59 seconds in a day. 70 / 290 oriented panels charged a battery up to 12 minutes 08 seconds in the same day. North oriented panels charged a battery up to 16 minutes 38 seconds in the same day.

Great videos Mirek! We are always checking your channel for new RUST electricity vidz. Thank you! Hoping to see more of your RUST vidz in the future. Also, I wanted to comment on this video. Although the output shown here on your design is the best output for direct connect to large battery this would have work when electrical components are connected to a small battery. I usually have a setup to where my small battery charges during day and night which means the battery is using power at all times. If the panels are only facing north they will stop charging the battery when the sun is no longer facing north and drain the battery, ultimately not having enough power at night time (this is for small batteries, large would still have enough power for night cycle).

@@ruditos1 Thanks for the comment. :-) Would you like to disclose your usual wiring with small battery? :-)

Absolutely! Please see attached link kzbin.info/www/bejne/e3zWk6mnrZaJbtU and watch from 2:55 - 5:30. This is the setup I use but with a small battery.

@@ruditos1 On left side of batteries it says charge left. Does that mean available power or does that mean until charged?

which means rust is in south hemisphere.

2:10 In real world, solar panels in the northern hemisphere faces south. However if you are on southern hemisphere, solar panels need to face north. It appears we are in the southern hemisphere in the rust world. There is also another issue, in some servers sun rises from south-east and sets on south-west, however when I place the panels facing south in these servers, (as it should be) they generate no power. When I place them facing north they generate power. It is quite interesting. Thanks for the info.

I usually end up having 4 panels facing north, 2 facing east, and another 2 facing west. This provides maximum power for the entire day.

So do I just face them all south?

The only reason why true North works and rust is because the rust island system is below the equator that's why you have to have it pointing North not South for the solar panels

Actually you're wrong, even if you were making a joke, it was a bad one. Ignoring the intro, the video starts at 0:05 seconds. He finishes the quick tutorial at the 0:50 mark. So technically, it was less than 60 seconds. He only said to stick around for extra info... If you watched the entire video, that's on you.
