Very cool. I didn’t know swag made a kit that high capacity. Definitely familiar with their model for the 20 ton. Might have to look into this further.

What is the ball park price for this build? Also do you think its capable of doing the 30T cylinders vs the 20T? Looking to purchase plans. Great build and work! Thanks
@skylarwagner115511 ай бұрын
I Believe I did it for around $2500 but I also had a lot of the metal I needed already. I am sure you can do it with 30T cylinders, but you might need a larger pump.
@MMIITTGAMES9 ай бұрын
I’m about to build a press hopefully similar to this, same brand hydraulic rams. What sort of pressure have you seen on the pump? Like are you reaching above 5000psi? The 4way connected you linked is only rated for 2500Psi, so if you’re exceeding this I’d be careful. Pretty sure the rams are rated for 10,000Psi(correct me if wrong). Are you just using the hoses that came with the pump? The build looks awesome and that was a good idea with the limit switch! Think you could hook up day 4 limit switches preset to different angles and thickness’s maybe with a sliding Pin/bolt so you can position it over said switch?
@skylarwagner11559 ай бұрын
The highest I have seen so far is 3000 psi and that was bending 3/8 x 4” flat bar. Yes the pump is rated for 10,000 psi, I had a hard time finding a 4 way that would be equivalent with 10,000 so I went with the strongest I could find. I am using only one hose that came with the pump. The rest I had to get made.

You could for use do something like that with the limit switches. Just have to be creative! I hope all goes well with your build.

Great Build! Im looking forward to your next video in a detailed parts list of your hydraulic press brake. So that one day I can convert my 50" Swagoffroad air over hydraulic press brake to hydraulic. 🔔

Hello there. I just subscribed. I like the press break, and how you made yours. What got my interest is the circular saw you used on the I-beam. It looked like a regular Skill Saw. Was it? If so what kind of blade are you using and where can I get them. I have a Milwaukee 8” I bought in 08 or 2010 and the blades are outrageous! So I don’t use it much. If you would please give me some insight. Thank you

Yes! We had an old 7 1/4 skill saw laying around the shop that I use. The hardware store in town carries “Diablo Steel Demon” saw blades. They have different types of blades depending on thickness of metal you are trying to cut as well as type of metal. One of my new favorite tools to use in the shop. I use it to cut various things. Thinking about making a video over my top 10 favorite tools to use in my shop. Thoughts?

Hey thanks for the reply, and info. I’ve seen the Diablo blades just haven’t tried them yet, but I will now! The 8” blade is difficult for me to get and cost around $70ish per blade and I only get about 75’ from them. Maybe it’s me? I don’t know! But my back pocket can’t take the learning curve. As far as the top ten tools go for it. Thanks again

You may want to think about making the bottom die holder adaptable to smaller sizes of dies. Shorter bends with the wide die on the bottom will not work well. having them interchangeable like the top lets you get much smaller radius in your bends. Also any kind of material that is on the thinner side is going to warp and not be as clean as it could be.
@kyanbr0x Жыл бұрын
should also note, if you do go the route of wanting to have smaller dies on the bottom be interchangeable, the top punches would also need to change to better match the radius on the bottom die. they work as a set.

Thank you for the information! I want to for sure change stuff in the future. By getting different dies to make cleaner bends. But for right now it is doing what I need it to.

I have the 20" version that I built like 4 years ago. Luckily I only stitched in the angle (die). I want to eventually make a bottom that accepts Wila tooling, which shouldn't be too hard.
