kawi only made the fuel injected 636 in all countries from 03-06 euro got a carbureted 636 in 2002 that was actually a J model engine (00-02) bored and stroked to achieve the 636 displacement. For 03 they redesigned the head and head mounting points as well as added fuel injection and a high pressure fuel pump moved into the gas tank. Kawi was still backing racers in the 600 class so from 03-06 they also made a limited production of the "ZX-6RR" (vs the 03-06 ZX-6R OR ZX636 OR JUST 636) which was the same redesigned engine but 600cc with the addition of a slipper clutch for race track purposes. they actually brought the 636 option back in 2013 I believe and still running it as their flagship.. great bike.

It's not easy putting one of these things together, you have to have a working motor with all the bits. Also you need a food fabricated that has all the right tools .

yea, we're gonna do a hacked up job and design a frame using spare metal and that, plus use the parts off my pocketbike (ie. wheels, brakes) getting a motorbike engine would be alot better though

Yikes, try to wear some safety glasses. The first time you go to the eye doc and he breaks out the drill to get the metal chunks out....you will learn. Dont ask how I know... The driven sprocket seems to be pretty small for this engine. Being that it revs really high you might want more gear reductions for more torque down low. Unless you want to go 200mph :-D

hey if you have info on short wiring one of these 636 I really needed it I am building a hillclimber and trying to elimenate all the wiring I am going to have an started that will hook right up to the crank so any insite would be great.
