The anniversary is definitely brighter and more gain. The og into the front of an amp can get a little boomy, unless you cut bass, when used to boost a gain channel. But once you dial it in, sounds amazing. Very versatile. You can make it boost like a Tube Screamer, or like an SD1 and even as a Transparent od (like Duke of Tone, Blues Driver, etc).

Hello! Thanks for this demo! Great playing as well! I always tried to dail G2 to match the sound of Chandler Tubedrive (which is unavailable for me) for smooth solo tones... The new G2 seems to be a little more gainy, bright for sure... and tubescreamerish...??? 14:55 that is NOT supid at all !!! Sounds like Tony Iomi :)

If you have 2 amps, just an ab/y switch will give you dual mono which is also awesome! Just finished modding a guitar to have 2 outputs so i can run my dual mono setup and a DI track at the same time. Actual stereo effects i do post.

I just found the old G2 for 160,- € and ordered it right away for my G20 in addition to my REVV Tilt Overdrive and VOX Silk Drive, but with the new Anniversary G2 I was not sure if I should rather get this one instead. Thanks to your Vid the old one is a nobrainer for me now and I stick to this one. I like the more "vintage" flavour of the old one better and on top I can save some bucks, too :D Thanks for helping me out ;) That beeing said, I would like to win the Anni anyway :) BTW, the only correct answer to the question "how many OD-Pedals does one need" is "YES" ;)

Sounds like the tolerance for the EQ stack is a wide enough to make one of them either a tiny bit scooped or just raising the highs.

Check out the EHX operation overlord and extortion pedals. They use jfets for the drive portion of the circuit. Jfets are closest tube sounding components.
