Flan...jer As in flanges on old reel to reel tape reels. To create the effect in the 'olden days' (Itchykoo Park) you roll two tapes with the same audio on two machines mixed at the board, start them at the virtual simultaneous start point and gently drag a finger on the reel (flange) to increase the difference in exact timing. The difference inherent in analog machines can tend to cause flanging because of imperfections. Since this is full range it results in an effect called flanging. I am old recording engineer. That said, I could be wrong, lol.

I think Fender is looking at Flamma and JHS pedals price points and is leveraging its size to own this space. They're pretty nice pedals actually. The Overdrive for $79 is pretty sweet, and good reverb is one of the best ambient effects ever IMO. Did you notice the LED color matches the pedal theme for gigging in the dark?

@@TungstenOvergaard I own a lot of pedals, a few high end but a lot of budget for noise, self oscillation and sound design. I'm no musician but own several PA set ups and have been doing desk duties for a few years. I'm not a pro but these sound really good to me, especially for the price. The fx are strong, clean don't seem to clip with high gain levels and the parameter controls have enough movement to capture most of the sounds needed from each flavour and a few more. I'm taken by these. Fuzz and drive pedal circuits are cheap to make, but if they bought down the fuzz price they'd probably have to bump up the Metal price. Assuming these use proper 16 or 9mm pots, the construction seems to knock the cheap nasty £20 nano pedals out the water. Id happily own any or all of these, and not need many more for the full range if sounds needed.

The distortion sounds like a DS-1 with a very flexible tone tone stack to my ears. The orange knobs might be a “secret hint”. Anyways,I like its sounds.

God I love you man ! I'm a over 25 yrs Surf Music fan and I can't find anyone else that puts surf sounds(It's Rare! generally speaking) in allmost all of his rewiew videos...at least as far as many as I could watch up until now... -Thank You !!! Note : (for the Reverb pedal) -I think....that if you change the mode to "dark",At Least! at the "plate" position you can achieve that surfy sound you're looking for.... It's just my opinion...I could be wrong I don't know...but...there I said it anyway....lol

Hammertone hits the nail on the head. The enthusiasm of this demo is pure fun. I caught the initial broadcast late at about mid flange, but what a spot to drop in on! Headphones on with a Bluetooth leash and I'm tethered to reckless abandon with a baritone kicker. Nice colored knobs, price, and fun, fun, fun, function.

It's funny, most of the time I am not hunting for tones that Ryan loves, but whenever he does pedal demos I make a beeline for them faster than any other channel. It's like he is so aware of the niche his favorite sounds fit into that he makes a point to demo a wider range of sounds than most people do. Plus I don'r recall seeing anyone else actually crack open a stompbox and fiddle with the innards while not stopping the actual demo.

These are ridiculously strong for 100 clams. So far in the year or so these have been out I've picked up the Fuzz (day one), Chorus and Flanger. Very versatile, super responsive and... the damn LEDS match the easy to use knobs. An effin win for Fender on all accounts. This is a super deal series.

Both are great options but the EHX Canyon is more if you want to dive into heavy experimentation whereas the Fender one has a very specific yet versatile sound.

Distortion is the big winner here, with that plate setting on the reverb a not-too-distant second. Off topic: How to you wire the two Princetons? Do you have to 'boost' the signal at all coming out of the (I assume) splitter?

some decent pedals there. i like the potential for warped weirdness with that chorus. based off this vid, the least exciting ones to me were the flaeaaaaoooowwwoooooorchestershiresaucenger and the overdrive. none of 'em are bad, though. so yeah!

Hi, really good demo as usual, just the right blend of description and wide variety if riffs, really well executed. The pedals? I love them all. I'm tempted to sell my whole collection and replace with the whole lot. I would miss the step "arpeggio" of the Turbo Flanger and the glitch in endless reverse delay on the Digitech Digidelay but apart from that this has a lot of really strong fx, with just enough switchs. Tbh I can't be bothered to invest a mammoth learning curve into a pedal. They sound controlled and clean. A lot of budget pedals clip easily, have weak crap sounding algorithms with limited controls. Id break out the trim pots in the delays onto the front panels as well, it's not a criticism, it floats my boat to customise. As for the reverb, I'm all over great sounding plate, add a bit of modulation in front and you can keep your over complicated/priced Styroman pedals. What I'm trying to say is another top demo of a great new affordable line. The Fender Pokemon, gotta get them all. PS the fuzz is a strong contender for the Behringer Superfuzz, less knobs, all the tones you want and sturdy, ( have they got proper 16 or 9mm pots, I hope so).

Been waiting forever for a demo of the chorus. Not a huge fan of chorus but 3 settings sounded nice but the names of the settings we're a bit vague was curious about the sound

Those Fender boards are actually kinda sick! They have cutouts for neutrik connectors on the top. Pretty neat design. Dig the look too. I like the sound of the distortion box. I'm wondering if it's like a rat with a three band EQ in post or something. Sounds like that.

I see a lot of people love these (Ryan included), but if you took all mentions of Fender out of this video I would assume it's an Afford-a-Board demo of a $25 pedal series. There's plenty of competition at better value. Somebody will buy these of course
