I am a part time semi driver, I have been chewed out by both shippers and receivers when I don’t know their routines. I have adopted a strategy of announcing loudly upon arrival that I have never been here before so you have to explain everything to me. This works 80% of the time.

Some of the yard people, I tell ya, if you take a wrong step... Haha. I don't care, some hours later I'm back on the road loving my life and they still be stuck there.

If people just took a little extra time and asked the driver have you been here before and do you know our procedures. Just that once sentence could make everyone’s life easier but hell they don’t. That’s the responsibility of the company that the driver knows the loading requirements, I think they call that safety. Haveing a driver on your facilities not knowing what to do is one safety hazard. Plus what’s required for the paperwork to get processed. Some companies or a lot of the companies blame new drivers when it’s them that need to educate all who comes onto there by property. As a retired farmer I can tell you that it is not just the JD manufacturing facility that employees rude people. Many of the local dealers are the same. I guess when a company is #1 and have pretty much a monopoly they don't have to put a premium on personal respect.

@@halwilliams1682 my relatives, on my mother's side, were farmers, and they always had John Deere machines, tractors, combines, at least when i was a kid and stayed with them, maybe later, they got other machines, dont think John Deere made a baler. the one i saw, was red not the green used on John Deere equipment.

Now Dan you no truck drivers are supose to be able to no what's going on at all times with everyone and everything .lol or that's what they think. I seem to get the one's that either has something going on at home and brings it to work or someone before me has got on there last nerve (clean version ) and they take it out on me but what makes them madder is just smile and say you got it boss man you can see the steam roll out there ears because you didn't argue with them . Precoat in granite used to be the best place to load back in the early 2000’s. Now it’s a shit show… hauled out of the from 1997-2008. Best people by far … now the newer shipping department has gone to shit! Bet you loaded for SELLERSBURG
