i used to catch channel cats that were 10lbs or more with regularity on clinton lake,clinton,il.i was catching them using chunks of shrimp under a bobber in 3ft of water.i was fishing the edge along a willow bed that was growing out about 10ft from shore and around 100ft long.

I love this spillway location, there always seems to be a monster lurking in the depths. I've been doing a lot of carp and catfish fishing and recently my dad and I caught our pb channel cats, his was pushing 10 pounds and mine was around 8. Not giants but still a lot better than our normal catfish which are 1 to 2 pounders. Sometimes you just gotta find that new spot to catch some honkers
