I appreciate him doing that too. I posted a pic of a Gar I caught on Facebook. Someone asked me what I did with it, and I told him I released it. He got mad @ me and told me you're either supposed to kill them or throw them on the bank to die. I'm not going to do that with any fish other than a Snakehead.

Growing up fishing in central Texas there were so many gar murdered on the river banks. It broke my heart and 25 years later I appreciate this video more than you know! My favorite fish ever to catch. They are so majestic yet people just want to kill them. Fantastic rescue ❤

Happy to see this update on the mysterious water being dumped in this creek last year and to see it is teeming with fish this year! Get that we live in different states, but I ended up going to court about 10 years back cuz i was rescuing fish from a puddle like that and releasing em down where the water was actually flowing. Turns out my state has laws about transporting live caught fish and releasing em. I got the charges dropped eventually, but it was an ordeal.

Oh yeah, it’s no joke..I caught a bucket full of panfish for eating and kept some water in the bucket and they was going to bust me for transporting live fish..they let me dump the water out and let me drive down the road home..

Ya here in Ohio, transporting fish is illegal in certain situations. Like moving fish from one water to another.

Because people introduce invasive specspecies into bodies of water that destroy the lake. In Canada they consider small mouth bass as invasive, killing their trout lakes. You can get fined for not throwing the smallie on the bank !!!!
