Anytime I catch bluegill or carp they always get used for bait immediately or they go in the freezer. I have a TON of bait frozen. Yes I know fresh is better, I just hate to kill things and not use them.

I dig your videos. Reminds me a lot of my youth when my brother and I would ride our bikes all over the region to fish different little bodies of water. Caught a lot of surprise trout, huge carp, etc. I remember even seeing some surprise sturgeon. Good memories. Keep up the good work, buddy.

Great video as always. That was the biggest big head carp I've ever seen and you got him on light tackle must been fun fight, plus a tun of bait. I am not 100% sure about him using rainbow trout for bait being legal or not, but the only time he has used a gamefish for bait other than that was the occasional largemouth bass legally in a private pond.

Nick, My young grandson and I watch your videos almost every night and often times he would rather watch you and your adventure's instead of a bedtime story. Many nights he falls asleep watching your videos and I'm sure he is dreaming of us fishing until his mom comes and gets him and takes him to bed. Once in awhile he will say gee I wish I could go fishing with Nick, and I say back to him gee I wish I could too! Great video, I used to fish the Illinois River almost exclusively and during the winter it wasn't a good trip without 1 or 2 inches of snow on my cold water reels. Great job and tight lines!!!

Pro tip for the cold! Fingerless gloves with thumb cover and the MIT cover for your fingers when not playing with line. 100% wool is best keeps warm while wet. But even polar fleece works. Wear them all the time fly fishing in the cold.

Watching from Australia. It's interesting to see how many spillways there are in his area and the weird fish there. Any fish without scales is a "trash" fish here but he shows due reverence to any fish he catches, large or small. I love it.

You’re always fishing in water that hold big rough fish, I don’t know why you don’t up the weight of your tackle?? Asian carp are delicious and to perpetuate a thought that you cannot eat carp is preposterous and will only inhibit our ability to control the species, I would hope with your ability and this outlet you will spread the proper information!

We catch a ton of cats on chicken breast marinated in italian dressing and left on the counter sealed for a few days. Great bait for bullheads and channels. Same goes for shad vacuum sealed in olive oil and garlic salt!

I'd love to see you do some more tiny creek fishing like you used to do! Also try getting crickets and soak them in sugar water as bait! Works great, my buddy introduced me to this for salmon fishing but works great for other species
