Nice sound of sucking and blowing as they used to say! haha, I had an 1980s XBR 500, with a pair of Goldy silencers I hade made, by a guy in Whitworth! he kindly put a couple of baffles in the end pipes just in case the neighbours complained, must admit I knocked them out after a few weeks! it sounded lovely.

Wonderful bike but you'd think they could come up with a carburetor that would actually idle!
@exb.r.buckeyeman8453 жыл бұрын
They’re not supposed to idle, these Gold Stars were ridden to tracks and raced on weekends after removing lights etc. There was no need to idle when racing, my DBD 34 was a 1961 Clubmans, basically an engine with racing cams, high compression piston, and an 1 1/2” GP carb. I used mine on the road you just had to blip the throttle in traffic. No problem starting either.

@@exb.r.buckeyeman845 GP Carbs cannot idle, they need blip or racing, which they built for....

Paula & Geoff Clarke I know - I was embarrassed by that and it falls short of my usual standard... My only excuse is that I hadn't ridden it before 😆
