620hp Audi R8 GT v AWD R8 v RWD R8: DRAG RACE

We’ve got our hands on three glorious V10-powered R8s, and they’re about to go head-to-head over the quarter mile!
So let’s see how the three compare. Starting with the R8 V10 Performance, it’s powered by a 5.2-litre naturally-aspirated V10 that can produce 570hp and 550Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox, and it tips the scales at 1,590kg. If you’re looking to pick one up, it’ll cost around £132,000.
Then we have the R8 V10 Performance Spyder. It’s housing the same engine was the coupe, but power has been increased to 620hp and 580Nm. Power is sent to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch, but as it’s the Spyder it’s the heaviest car here, weighing in at 1,695kg. The price is also up on the coupe, costing around £167,000.
But that price is nothing compared to the limited-edition R8 GT - the last fully petrol-powered R8 to ever be produced! It costs from £200,000, and only 15 of them are set to go on sale in the UK! However, it still comes with the same 5.2-litre V10 as the other cars, and the power output is almost identical to the Spyder, at 620hp and 565Nm! Power is sent to the rear wheels only, but it’s also the lightest car here, at 1,570kg.
So how will this one play out - will the all-new R8 snatch it? Or will the AWD performance of the Spyder power it to victory? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

Agree, although if you are clever who supposed to buy an R8, Audi RWD performance is the best choice. The fact that it cost a lot cheaper than the 2. With these lack of power compare to the others. A tune up would be perfect to get the best out of it. We can say that V10's era has been done for a long time. Perhaps these cars with V10's will just become a collectibles.

@@badgasaurus4211 if you just want speed get a Tesla model S plaid. Goes from 0 to 300km/h in 14 seconds. A brand new 911 Turbo S goes from 0 to 300 km/h in 26 seconds. Both have similar track times too, Tesla is faster on shorter tracks and they’re equal on longer tracks like the Nurburgring.

The RWD R8 is an absolute bargain. There are ECU tunes for these that get them up to 650HP. Because they're light and can make that kind of power with relatively decent weight, they become straight-line monsters.

they never use dragys for the 1/4 mile or their brake tests. Their 1/4 mile times for every car they test are slower than any other channel gets by about half a second.

@@ASTRODBoy the gt (white car) is the fastest. It should do 1/4 mile at around 11 seconds flat. I’ve seen them get horrible times in awd cars that other channels get a noticeably better time on even on unprepped surfaces…. But it could definitely be the shitty England weather.
