Interesting video I have a mill a lot like yours and was considering putting the 3 phase motor back on it previous owner had changed it to single phase but that invertor looks interesting.

John, that's the first time I have seen the top end of you're mill. Looks exactly like my JET mill. Suspect you may have a rise that increases the space between the table and quill. With a swivel vice installed I have clearance issue when tapping a moderate size part. I have been interested in a reversing motor as well. Going on to part 2. Thanks for the interesting video's. Randy

you are going to love the VFD SYSTEM, everything I can run one on is set up that way in my shop, and they even helped cut my power bill a little . Best thing on a lathe and mill , because of speed control !

john You may need to re align motor pulley to where it was on old motor, set belts on middle speed range an hardly ever change belts over again just use the inverter . I have the same Newton Telsa set up and it works fine

I am not that surprised that the mill burns out one motor after the other.

is the pully on the motor not a band too low? all three grooves should be in line with the 3 idlers groves.

Didn't repeated motor starts with the the quill pulley locking pin kill those motors? You need to tie in a kill switch or deadman there.
