if you look at the video of the firewall of the truck from around the 16:30 mark, you can see a malamute face where the brake master cylinder sits. it looks like he is watching Heath work while resting his chin on the frame. i think you should name this truck "the Malamute" since it will be the lead dog on your snowy days blazing the trail for others to follow.

Seems like it would have been more economical to have went to a county or state auction and bought a 5 or 10 ton truck with a underbody scraper on it, also with a plow hook up on front. Lots of uses then even in the summer. Just a thought.

He's got a wood burning stove and pays for the propane heater instead. There's nothing finished in the garage. Working on the new ground parking lot instead of the plow truck was more of an issue than blaming the lost time on the water shed project. It's an obvious order of importance, if it was followed. The Snowcat would've plowed everything, I MEAN EVERYTHING, on the road easily. 🤷🏻♂️ Sold it though?! 🤔

POR-15 is great stuff! I use it all the time. If you punch two holes in the lid (pour and vent) and seal them with a large sheetmetal screw the paint won't setup in the can...lasts for years. To stir I roll it across the floor for a few minutes, don't shake it as that puts micro air bubbles in it which keeps it from laying down smooth. Only works on sandblasted bare metal or rust, not over already painted surfaces...
@Sigurther2 жыл бұрын
Ha! That was the secret ingredient! Good eye.
@Featherburner2 жыл бұрын
You are also not supposed to brush it straight from the can. I have switched over to KBS Coatings as it is just as good as POR-15 but cheaper.
@57firetruck2 жыл бұрын
I never open the lid, just use the punched pour hole to put it in a throw away cup and reseal the lid with a screw as soon as I pour out what I need.

Looks like your chickens like it warm when they lay eggs. You may want to insulate their house and have nesting boxes with deep "Chopped straw" bedding in them. Un-Chopped straw will mat up and start to mold from ladies coming in and out. As you know they should not be allowed to sleep in the nesting box as they will poop there as well. They well need more protein in the winter. Any bugs or left over animal fat from dinner will help them to lay in the winter. We would put a 60 watt light bulb under a glass bowl mounted on a metal box when it got real cold and the chickens would gather around it when the weather got it's coldest. I know this sounds like a lot of fuss over chickens, but they contribute much more than they cost to own. We feel it when our chickens dry up. Fresh eggs are the protein you feed them coming back to you, and their waste feeds your garden. All so chickens are tasty because they taste like everything. 🙂God bless. 👍

I see your home in the spring, summer and fall, and think what a great paradise you built, then I see the winter with the snow, everything wet, and is getting so cold and think, nope, it’s not for me. Although it only gets down in the twenties where I’m located, and we only get a light dusting of snow, that’s enough for me. When I work in my garage during the winter, it’s freezing cold and I have to use the heater blower, which is the same as yours, but seeing you in your shop looks really uncomfortably cold. Nope, not for me!

I found on the different flocks that I've had over the years that if you leave your chickens in the Run or you don't have a run but leave them in the coop till like 9:00 or 9:30 and then turn them loose it makes them put their eggs in the nest box I have not had a chicken going lay eggs out anywhere other than in the chicken nest boxes used to but I found out if I left the chickens in till that time and then turn them loose and they free-ranged all day I never had any eggs come up missing or you know that they were putting them out somewhere else and I've never found any other eggs around when I've been out trimming and mowing

I had a '95 Ram with the NV4500 transmission. Loved it! Just make sure you use the Mopar Manual Transmission fluid, and not any other fluid. And don't let the Amsoil evangelists that roam the interwebs convince you otherwise! I love Amsoil, and use it in my other manual transmissions, in my motorcycle, and in my other vehicles. But, NOT the NV4500. It really is finicky about which fluid you use and the OEM is really the only acceptable trans fluid for this transmission.

As soon as I seen that tire changer I thought this is going to be a struggle. It might work better with one of those bars for the manual tire changer with the nylon inserts(for alloy wheels) that you walk round the tire changer to demount the tire. Remember to make sure you push the bead down into the center of the wheel when fitting and removing the tire.

The plow trucks not done and its snowing. At least you got your pad done and your trail to nowhere.
@larryfreeman79792 жыл бұрын
my thoughts exactly. Heath claims the reason the truck isn't done is because of the water storage bunker. No, Heath, its because you spent weeks moving dirt, why that was so important to you is beyond me ??? also, you are not that far from town that an old tire changer is necessary for off grid living. All the time spent trying to do big tires on it is better spent on the plow truck.
@homerfantastic2 жыл бұрын
@@larryfreeman7979 Right, how's he gonna balance those tires? There may be an "off grid" way to do it I'm not familiar with?
@richardthomas17432 жыл бұрын
Those mud tires that you like to run on everything are the worst tire that you could have on your vehicles for winter driving. The rubber is too hard and stiff to offer any grip when it is cold and there is no siping on the tread.... "And although mud tires are much more pliable than all terrain tires (which tend to deal with much harder surfaces), the particular soft rubber compound construction is detrimental to their winter performance as they react poorly to steep drops in temperature. They will harden below 45 degrees.".. They are no rated for snow , they are rated for MUD . While Off-Road Maximum Traction tires are branded with the M+S symbol and able to churn through deep snow, their typical oversize applications and the absence of snow-biting sipes in their large smooth lugs can challenge their on-road wintertime traction on packed snow and icy surfaces. Just saying.

And you said a mouthful. Heaths gonna do what he's gonna do, and he's lived in those conditions for years, so he should know by now what works and don't. If you've seen his first videos, the road was an absolute mudfest, gotten better with time, but still muddy.
@richardthomas17432 жыл бұрын
@@russellwatters5891 I have seen all of the videos and I am not talking about the muddy roads , or course mud tires are made for that. I also had seen what tires were on his sons truck when he lost control on the snow covered, icy roads and rolled his truck over. Mud tires when it is cold are too stiff of a tread to grip, that is why they are called mud tires and not called snow/winter tires. And yes Heath always does what he wants.
