Safety glasses! Especially drilling overhead. Take it from a blind in one eye person. I have both Bolle and 3M with readers that ar awsome.

Great video. This was my very 1st vehicle I owned at 16yrs old. I am currently looking for one to buy. Enjoyed the videos and looking forward to more. Just subbed to your channel. Can't wait to see the finished project.👍

nice work on this project! i have to ask....was any thought given to boxing the frame? it seems like a fairly flimsy "C" channel.
@GreaseMonkeyTV Жыл бұрын
Not for street use. These frames are much stronger than the newer stuff I've worked on.

You make it look so easy. I want to do it on my 1965 ford f100. But it seems hard for me. I don't have a garage or the tools that you have.

Maybe a dumb question, but are the crown Vic alignment pins center of the subframe? So I would need to align that with the centerline of the axle on the truck?
@GreaseMonkeyTV2 жыл бұрын
Yes. Sorry I didn’t make that clear.

Started watching all over again got me one ! With the crown crossmember mounted how much would you say lowers from stock thks
@GreaseMonkeyTV Жыл бұрын
Not much! Couple inches maybe. Especially with the hd springs that come on police package CVs.

Building my 64 right now and at this stage. The small hole that you drilled for the CV alignment pin, was that the old center line of the straight Axel or did you move it forward 1/2-3/4”?
@GreaseMonkeyTV Жыл бұрын
Moved forward. Don’t remember the exact amount. Was determined before tear down to get the front wheels centered in the fender opening.

anyone know what kind of grinding wheel GMTV uses for cutting all the sheet metal work?? I'm thinking a diamond 4" or 4 1/2" Ready to cut clearance to mount the steer box on the 1964 truck.............finally
@GreaseMonkeyTV Жыл бұрын
A 4 1/2” cutoff wheel seems to work best. Those diamond steel blades aren’t all that great. Buy a pack of dewalt blades and you’re all set.

Thanks for your videos! Most videos I’ve seen so far are not informative or show all the details like yours. I have my late father in laws ‘66 F100 to get running again but not sure how to start. I found no one interested in doing it so looks like it’s on me. I’d love to hear your suggestions/advice and pick your brain in the process?

This is the reason I do these vids. As a car guy, it’s painful to watch the topical shows that teach nothing about details.
