65 Mustang steering column bearing fix

I was missing the "upper steering column bushing"

just what I was looking for, been trying to figure out why the shaft doesnt even touch the bearing as I did not take it apart. Thanks so much

I was down sick for a while. I usually get back to comments quick sorry abou lt that. A side effect of having that centering collar in is my steering wheel spins a lot easier, and I went from a 16 inch to a 14 3/4".

Awesome man glad it helped. I took a while searching drawings in shop manuals, and forums to figure out that the part in the drawing is not the same part you can buy today.

Loosen the two bolts that hold up the column to the bottom of your dash and then grab your column with a firm grip and slide it down towards your firewall. The shaft will still in place and this will give you more room to put all that stuff together. If you look on the bottom of your column right where that saddle mount is you'll see a slot... that's the amount of adjustment play that the column has up or down.

Same to you and your people!!! I'm still bitter I couldn't show the bushing, but I wasn't going to take apart anything more than I had too just for the video. Hopefully anyone that comes across this video looking for answers will be able to figure it out!

Lol it does seem pretty simple. Putting the original wheel on is easy. Trying to stack all the crap and keep it lined up is going to be interesting. I'm already thinking I probably should have gone with the 5/6 hole adapter instead of the GT Grant style.
