650 - LIVE! Shiny Tyrogue in Leaf Green after 2235 hatched (using Pokemon Box)

This was a pretty crazy hunt that I did entirely offstream! I am currently stuck in the endless dark dimension of Dunsparce searching for the shiny 3 segment Dudunsparce in Scarlet right now, but as soon as I find that, I'll be working on some bigger projects soon!

Level 100 gauntlet, full team of pick up pokemon, like Dedenne and Pachirisu. Just grinding across the map, like 5 levels a area. How many items, shiny pokemon, and hours does it take until all level 100. Before ever taking on the story! No rare candy's, no tera raids candy grind, just pure grinding. Maybe even make it a two part movie, one part for the Pickup crew, maybe make it a whole "lets clean up our community!" Thing, and any shinys you've caught can be used in the story, caught now the region is all 'shiny' and clean. Why not catch a shiny dunsparce, and save before evolving it, and reset each time its not three segments. I've got 7 full odds random shinys just wondering around doing raids, two are Falinks, now I have anxiety around bamboo.

Anyway, dunsparce uses an encryption constant to determine its 3 segment status, meaning that it’s hard coded into the specific sparce itself which form it’ll evolve into, and no amount of soft resetting will change that. It’s a similar situation to wurmple and it’s evolutions.

I just got a really interesting idea for a Level 100 Gauntlet. Magikarp Jump raising a Magikarp to level 100 before beating the first league. You can purposely try to have your Magikarp “retire” to gain trainer exp.

Sanity check question. You should be able to do this just by stockpiling on one game, trading them to another, trading back and resetting the second file. Eventually, I assume between the steps to trade it will be too close to hatching to trade and you will need to restockpile.

No restockpile necessary! The way eggs work isn't on an exact stepcount basis and instead works on this counter that counts this thing called egg cycles that happen every 256 steps that is tied to your save file, not the eggs. An egg that has one egg cycle left could either take 1 step or up to 256 steps depending on the current state of the file!! You just need to make sure you're trading it to a file that doesn't have 1 step left in its current egg cycle so you have enough steps to set up the trade again

@@VictoriousVulpix always counting! If making new files is part of the routine, you might want to count your steps from the beginning (in increments of 256) and then follow the same path to the Pokemon Center every time to know exactly where your egg cycle is at when you trade
