Kinda random but before this was made there have been videos of beating Kanto (and red) using magicarp and only held items and no items in battle. You have to gamble tho, and use the Beserk Gene item (increase attack 3 stages but confuses you for the battle) for Red

Watch the vid that VGmyths made. Beating gen 1 without taking damage once. He had a level 42 Charizard and level 41 Raticate before Brock with only grinding against Metapods and Kakunas in Viridian Forest because these were the only wild Pokemon that couldn‘t damage him, so the 1/256 glitch couldn‘t affect him. That shit was pure madness because one unlucky dice roll could have ended the run.

I have spent so many hours watching these videos, doesn't really matter how long it is. Always love to see the strategies that randomly work, and the random quirks of some challenges like having to closely monitor hp not to stay alive, but to maximize attack

Hey, great job man! If anyone gives you grief over how I did this too, do me a favour and tell them to shove it. You're literally one of the guys who got me to start trying Pokemon Challenges, no toes were stepped on in the making of this great video. I'm just preemptively saying this because I've seen enough comments on EVERYONE's channels of "But Blank did this first!" type stuff. For what it's worth though about what he said at the end, I didn't use save states in my run, that would be cheating

Been watching your videos since you were doing the weekly creepypastas. And I love your newer challenge videos. You and jrose and pikasprey and so on and on make awesome challenges. Inspired my own type of challenge as well

GGs for the amazing run. I did the same run over 15 years ago and all your comments reminded me of all the struggles I had on my run. Thanks for making me to remember all the pain and fun I had on my run. It also was pretty funny to see that we both ended having really similar battle plans most of the big fights. :) Biggest differences were that I kept losing fights on the Nugget Bridge intentionally to get free Nuggets to get access a lot money on early game. I also ended up leveling my Magikarp in a DayCare and left the game on for couple of days. xD

27 in game hours played it says when you save at the HOF, but realising this dude probably spent 2-3 weeks in time because of do-overs, just do deliver our content, my god, it makes me so happy that you succeded, it's not even about "can I beat this game with a flailing, strugeling fish?" It's about "Can I do the impossible, never done before?" And damn right, you can, YOU did it and I have never felt more certain to subscribe + like and share this with my best friend a video, a channel and a awesome creator in my life! When you did this for vanilla R/B, I was chopping up some vegetables to make dinner. During the process, I became so engrossed in your video that I accidentally cut my thumb so deep that I had to drive myself to the ER to get stitches (LMFAOOO). I absolutely told the nurse what happened and he and I proceeded to laugh hysterically. With that being said, I made sure to watch this video in a paring knife-free environment. Your comments on using save states in these runs have made me stop using them. As a result, a challenge I did took me 250 hours of resetting. I both hate and thank you for that

I hate when people use save states in battle or to reset. Saving should only be to actually save your progress in case your software crashes or you need to go. My brother did a no item nuzlocke on bloody platinum and he'd save AFTER EVERY SINGLE POKEMON HE BEAT if his team looked too weak to carry on he'd restart and try again. Heard some scum that like to make a save state at the start of an encounter and reset if they KO it or run out of balls.
