If you run the slo-mo replay at .25 speed you can really tell how dramatic a crash this was. You can see Ike's left leg being spayed with hot oil and his reaction to it. At that moment it appears his right hand is going for the kill switch. You can see the front wheels are turned partially to the left and the mower is in a skid. The mower actually becomes airborne, flips 180 degrees, and lands directly on the air intake scoop. Additionally, you can see the impact Ike's helmet sustains against the pavement. You can also see Ike ready to react if the mower had continued to roll in his direction and see that he was ready to avoid any further harm. As a side note: helmets are a one-time protective device. Its time for a new one after contact with the pavement.
@ApacheVR-46 жыл бұрын
It has always amazed me at what these guys are willing to do with these things on paved roads without something as basic as pants. Don't get me wrong, at the VERY least, they are religious about wearing their helmets, but anytime me or my friends do things like this we have a strict "no skin" policy, ie no skin showing. If it's not all covered up, you don't get to play. Glad to hear that Ike is alright though, and hopefully this is a lesson to more than just them. And as the previous poster said, time for a new lid! Could even make an episode out of talking about helmets and such while shopping for a new one. I'd watch it.

Kaden Haugen nope it was about 10 mph when the mower rolled all the way over once. If it rolled at 40 it would have rolled a lot more then once. The back end locked up and slowed it down a lot. Im glad he wasn’t going 40 when he flipped there would’ve been a trip to the hospital

My neighbor down the street built one of these Racing mowers about 10 years ago. He was planning on racing it at the King County Fair. It was an early 90's Craftsman 20hp Kohler engine that I sold him when I had a garage sale. Probably 10 minutes after he finished building it he ripped by my house showing off. It got outa control went through the ditch,did a vertical wheelie,caught about 3 feet of air,crashed completely through my 6 ft wood fence. It kept going full throttle after he fell off. It went through the same fence on the other side of my yard,through the ditch and hit an old Chevy Blazer that was parked in the culdesac. Thankfully that finally stopped it. He had broken ribs,broken wrist and a broken ankle. And some other superficial injuries. I'm sure they're a blast,I'm into motorsports myself. But be safe. I didn't make him pay for the fence,he's my friend. But he was pretty screwed financially because he couldn't even work for 5-6 months due to the injuries (he's in construction)that thing would have hit someone,they could have been killed. Then what?? I know why it got away from him. He left the stock throttle set up on it. It was just a up down lever on the dash UP🐇 DOWN🐢. He took one hand off the steering wheel to adjust the throttle,it went off the road a little bit. The ground got bumpy and he accidentally hit full throttle.Chain reaction after that.

if that happened at top end speed the road would've chewed you up completely. That's why I as a motorcyclist never ever ride without all the protective gear, even if it's a short trip or even a commute. ATGATT or "All the gear all the time." is how I roll after a few unwanted meetings with the road surface in my past. Glad you're OK, Ike.

Yea I had a fellow dual sport rider who is trying to learn how to wheelie ask if I had any tips for him. From the pictures he showed I immediately said wear some gear man that is my tip to you! I always make sure to be in full gear before riding wheelies at up to 60 mph on the pavement. I have yet to go down while stunting, but I am not stupid I know it is a matter of time. I just pasted the mile mark with the front tire up and am pretty excited about that, but that wouldn't matter at all if I went down and lost a butt cheek or worse! Especially while "learning" how to wheelie on pavement, to be wearing a tee shirt and regular jeans is asking for serious trouble to be sure.

This is one for the Blooper Reel. It's a miracle that neither one of you has had a major injury yet. Hope you feel better Ike.

I love the sound of the 670 engine. I'M wondering if you had had a transmission in place of the torque convertor if it would of helped in this situation because he could of put it in neutral and costed to a stop without the rear wheels locking up? Thank God Isac is ok I'M so glad he didn't get hurt seriously I would he was very lucky. I agree about proper safety equipment when riding is a must!!! Be careful guys see you wednesday. God Bless!!!

That thing came really close to landing on his foot as it rolled. Ike got pretty lucky there, at least partially due to how he handled it when the wheels locked up. Glad he's OK.
