Can you explain the purpose of adding bead to the firewall portion?

Thanks for asking! So I think it would be best to compare adding a "bead" to thin sheet metal like how corrugated cardboard is to thin paper. If the ridges were not in corrugated cardboard, it would be flimsy as it would just be brown paper. Thin sheet metal (and paper) is only stiff in the direction of the bulk of its material, therefore adding a "bead" changes the directions of stiffness.
