66 Mustang Betsy - Splash Shields

Hello viewers, in this video I am refurbishing the splash shields. They were one of the contributing causes of Betsy's rusted floors. I probably should have done this when I painted the car last time (1987) but I didn't. Shoulda, coulda, woulda. There are also some other goodies I did during this time, they are in there too.
FYI - Don't use Shoe Goo, it doesn't hold well enough. Either 3M Weatherstrip Adhesive or seam sealer works way better.

I bought a roll of Rubber from Amazon, much thicker than the pre-cut ones. traced the pattern from the old, dried-out, cracked rubber. replaced the staples, pushed the rubber on and I couldn't be happier. the pre-cut ones you could buy were unacceptable for me due to the price. I got away much cheaper and the thick quality rubber seems very durable for any amount of rain resistance it needs..

I went through this process about two years ago. i put some sealer between the rubber and metal to seal it better. I like your idea of the using ethafoam along with it. I may do this when I put the fenders back on.

Seriously considering it, maybe 1/4” thick.
