All the little tid bits throughout out these videos are great, like adjustment for the window height, my drivers side windows goes up juuuust slightly more than it should, now I know how to fix that. Keep up the good work.

I have found that a paint can opener works really well at removing those hidden clips. You can grab the back side of the clip with the curved end of the opener and it will pull right out.

Another "trick" for getting those handles off is to use a shop rag. Put it in between the handle and door card on the lever side of the handle. When you pull it out use a counter clockwise motion and it can catch on the tip of the clip and pull it out.

Had a 1966 Hardtop. The windows did not seal worth crap from new. We'd get our family of four armed with bath towels to go through the car wash. That exercise became quite a sporting event.

I wish I had seen this episode a couple of years ago. Getting the door glass out of my late '65 was not as easy as it was for you. The window is still a bit hard to roll up and down. I replaced both the front and rear glass runs so maybe they need some further adjustment. Hope you address that issue in the next episode. Thanks!

Yup, just had to take the guts out of my busted door and install them on my replacement door. Those bolts are 5/16 bolts btw if anyone loses some. Luckly everything came together just fine. As a rule, I only work in long sleaves with some thin gloves no matter the weather.

Does the window regulator for this year mustang work for the 1964 falcon?

? I have a 68 Torino Conv. The passenger side window has been off for years. When I dug into it I found out that the Window has came unglued from the window track. I contracted a window guy to glue it back for me. (long story short) The window Guy got it glued back in then ghosted on me. So I reinstalled the window my self. Turns out that he glued it incorrectly Git a finger with gap at the front. So I am going to redo it. ? I assume heat to remove the glue. Using some type of windshield sealant to re glue. But where do I get the dims for proper position.

The Mustang is easier to find info on than the Torino for sure. I would be a little suspect of heating. In fact I probably would take it to a shop that specializes in automotive glass and have them remove it. I would then mount the aluminum parts to the tracks and set the glass into the tracks, roll them up into position (with the top up) and mark the glass for position. My 66 driver-side quarter window rocks front to back despite tightening down the adjustment bolts you've shown in other videos. It seems the assembly doesn't rock; only the rollers. Is it possible mine are worn down in their tracks, allowing front to back motion? It interferes with the door shutting cleanly. Thank you!

Yep. that could be the issue. We'd remove the panel and take a peek.

That is the door glass channel. Be advised that the channel is only available for the '65-'66 fastback only and is only available (for now) with the glass.

My regulators were really bad that I ended up buying new ones. Sadly they were Taiwanese made hence the poor quality construction of the teeth and gears. It has more free play than the 50 year old regulator that I removed. It is also noisy at the end of the travel esp when glass is up. If yours are also Taiwanese/Chinese made, then it all only looks good on TV like most cases I've seen. Tell me frankly about the quality of NPD parts. Thanks a lot.

Frankly, NPD works to have the best available products. Often they will offer a good, better, best. Generally speaking all retailers deal with low quality products. The 65-66 Mustang headlight buckets and eyebrows for example are ummm "less than perfect", but no one has tried to improve on them as of March 20th 2020. I would contact NPD and ask the sales rep about what they are offering. It may be that the regulator is just crap...and the only one available to them, or they may have a better brand.

@@AutoRestoMod Thanks for your reply mate. I actually bought the regulators from CJPP which quite frankly deals with lots of crap from China/Taiwan. It would be hard to tell if NPD or any other supplier also deals with the same CJPP manufacturer in China/Taiwan which means the quality would equally be crap. Or they deal with other Chinese manufacturers of better quality standing. Perhaps NOS is another way to go.
