My Uncle is one of those. I've been playing guitar for over a decade. I'm not great because I have some fine motor skill issues which makes picking weird sometimes, but I can jam and groove pretty well. Que in my uncle, he said he wanted to start playing about 2 years ago and I gave him one of my guitars and a USB interface. We went to NAMM this year. I, although I've played for a lot of years, never, ever played in front of any audience. I jammed with some friends and that's about it. I have extreme stage fright/performance anxiety (partly because of my motor issues). So, back to NAMM earlier this year. I hadn't seen him in a while and he was talking about the gear he had bought throughout the past year. About 15 guitars, a drum kit, a couple bass guitars and a variety of amps, pedals and speakers which pretty much rounds out anyones "I want that" list of historically best gear out there. He sits down at a booth, picks up a guitar and fucking made me reconsider ever picking up a guitar again. He destroyed my spirit with what he has managed to learn in the past year, at 67 years of age. He's a natural and I'm sure if he had gotten into music when he was in his 20's, he'd have been a musician instead of a banker.
