67VW BUS TRANS REBUILD..PART 6

FOUND SOME HAIRLINE CRACKS ON THE DROP GEARS CAUSED BY A ROLLER BEARING CAGE BREAKING UP AND IM SURE LOCKING UP THE DROP GEARS. THIS WAS THE REASON WHY THE DRUM WOULD NOT TURN WHEN I BOUGHT THE ASSEMBLY

for the inner plug drill a small hole in center, put a sheetmetal screw in it, use a claw hammer and pop it right out

Put a screw into the plug and pry out, weld the tiny screw hole and reuse

Leonard, How did you pull the drive/drop gear out after you get the inspection cap off.
