If all us boaters with a Jackery got together we could power the national grid in a power cut 🤣😂, they are a great bit of kit and I’ve spent the last week watching solar generator videos from all different manufacturers. Great vid as always guys 👏👏👏👏

Hi Paul, and Anthony, Loved the Vlog. Love the chatting. It feels like one is listening to a friend when Paul does his chats to camera. Anthony I liked the way you were positioned on the stern of the boat reading your book, looking so relaxed. Hope your enjoying the rest time after your exams. The cafe looked nice. The Wig-Wam wooden shelters looked really kool, nice on a Summer's evening to have a few Glasses of what you like and do some more chatting. Paul, its lovely that you are still doing your magic shows. Dexter had plenty of walks this week, so he's a nice happy doggy. It might be an idea to wrap a cold wet sheet around myself during really hot days. . Paul I hope the TV interview went well. Have a great week., Take care.

At the risk of sounding daft: I really enjoy Paul's 'chat's to camera' which I can't help but liken to receiving a weekly pen-pal letter; rather like those I received from my many pen-pals around the world as a teen way back in the early to mid-seventies! Morning guys. What a gorgeous area you are in now! Dexter was happy paddling in the stream ❤️ It was 34C in the caravan during that heatwave. Not great for the dogs. Sympathise with your friend on crutches, I fell off the caravan steps last week and have broken my ankle. Having to stay in Somerset as I can’t drive for another 5 weeks 😱Missing all the exciting parts of the boat build, it’ll be nearly finished by the time I get back! Have a good week.

A wonderful video. Thanks to the three of you for making it such a success. Your first summer on Morning Star - living in a confined space in such hot conditions must be difficult for all of you. If Dexter is anything like our two dogs, walks in hot weather are short and taken at the coolest parts of the day. I love your "to camera" chats Paul. It's like receiving a weekly diary from you. In my opinion, the more Anthony and Dexter join in, the better it is too. I'm glad your magic and art are keeping you busy Superb camera work and photography this week. Just rewatched this and realised the question about stinging nettles. I've lived in a few places in Europe, several places in the UK and even more places in the US. I have never seen stinging nettles outside of the UK. I remember them well, the itching and welts. Hate them. I'm sure they have them in other places, but I have lived in the UK for 9 years and those were the only 9 years I ever encountered them. I'm 48 now, btw. Probably the one thing I don't miss about England.

Hey you two:-). So I’m thinking about renting a boat just for a few hours in Basingstoke. From Galleon marine. To Barley Mow pub and back. Here’s my question. How do you know of a place is ok to turn the boat around?? Lol. I’ve downloaded a canal map and can’t see a place. But they assume you returning in x amount of time lol so there must be a place……. Or am I missing something. Thank you again x

Hey, aww good luck with the boat rental, we loved our canal holiday. Oh, not sure about the turning points. We use OpenCanalMap app. Think that shows them. It is usually obvious though as there is a diamond shaped cut out in the canal. But I guess that doesn’t help with planning. Have a look at the app as it really is useful. Let us know if you go ahead and how you get on. X

Another enjoyable vlog, thank you. I have a distinct sense of deja vu though, because just the other day I watched Mark from Well Deck Diaries do a review of the Jackery, complete with solar panel. I take it you really liked the Allotment Cafe lol! Stinging nettles, now, not many people know this, but Diane Fossey of Gorillas In The Mist fame (possibly before your time) who studied the mountain gorillas in Rwanda used to punish any poachers that she captured by removing their trousers and pants and beating their genitals with nettles! See? I’m a mine of (mostly useless) information! 😀

Thanks Sheila . We were surprised that Jackery had sent this to other boaters and we had already filmed our piece when we saw Marks video release, it was too late then to do anything. The Jackery is a good piece of kit though. We love eating out at a nice cafe especially outside in the summer. I do know Diane Fossy, not personally. Loved the film, I didn’t know about that with the nettles though. She was an amazing woman. Have a really lovely week. Love from the three of us 💕

Lol. Thanks Sheila. Glad you enjoyed. We are aware of the same review. We have had it about a month and scheduled to do ours this Saturday and then said to Paul someone else has done it. I was a bit surprised as we contacted Jackery who said they wanted to see our take! I do remember gorillas in the mist (definitely showing my age lol) and I would have done more than whip them with nettles 🤬. Hope you are settled in now. Take care ❤️

Why doesn't Anthony like the windows open at night? If worried about mozzies & spiders, I bought some fly netting for our windows, they velcro on so easy enough to remove.

Hey Cazzy. We got some of that Velcro stuff. I think it is more a security thing with the windows. Hope you are good and having a nice week. Take care ❤️

@@anthonysmith-storey9247 Ah yes fair point. It's cooled down a bit lately anyway hasn't it, so maybe we've had the heat wave for the year & it'll stay milder. Liked the cool coat for Dexter, back in the day I used to wet a towel & tie it onto our Rosie, love the way you can get the real thing now as a towel ends up rolling off them haha

@@beasmith1 lol. That is what we were initially doing to bless him. It has been warm again today but nothing like that heat wave! You are probably right re the heat wave for the year 😂. X

Thanks Craig and well spotted. We did buy a car from AC the ear thing was to open up the piercing for a new wider earring. I think he’s crazy 🤣. We had the fire lit the other night, the temperature has really dropped 👍
